The much anticipated 2012 SEC Football Schedule will not be released before Christmas, the SEC announced this morning on Twitter.
The SEC tweeted the following on their official Twitter account @SECSportsUpdate:
Working through final stages of 2012 SEC football schedule. We’ll release once it’s complete, but not before Christmas.
Last week, Georgia athletic director Greg McGarity and Arkansas athletic director Jeff Long both stated that the 2012 schedules would be released sometime before Christmas. Read Full Story »
The Rice Owls have added the Notre Dame Fighting Irish to their 2014 football schedule, the school announced today.
Rice will travel to play Notre Dame in South Bend on a date to be determined. The game will be the fifth meeting between the schools.
Notre Dame leads the overall series 4-0. The last meeting between the two schools was Nov. 5, 1988 at Notre Dame Stadium. The Irish won that game 54-11. Read Full Story »
The Virginia Tech Hokies have added the Austin Peay Governors to their 2012 football schedule, the school announced today.
Virginia Tech will host Austin Peay at Lane Stadium in Blacksburg on a date to be announced. The game will be the first ever between the two schools.

The Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders will play at the Mississippi State Bulldogs in 2012, MTSU announced today.
The game will be played at Davis Wade Stadium in Starkville on October 20, 2012. Mississippi State leads the overall series 4-0.
Middle Tennessee is also scheduled to play at Georgia Tech on Sept. 8 and at Memphis on a date to be announced. Read Full Story »
The 2012 SEC football schedules should be released next week, several sources within the conference have indicated.
On Tuesday, Arkansas AD Jeff Long tweeted that the schedules should be released “before Christmas.”
Yesterday, UGA athletic director Greg McGarity said on Bulldog Roundtable on 680 the Fan that the 2012 SEC schedules should be released “Monday or Tuesday.” Read Full Story »
Pac-12 commissioner Larry Scott hopes to “expand the presence” of their universities in China. That may happen as Notre Dame and Stanford have discussed playing their 2013 football game there.
The game is currently set for November 30, 2013 at Stanford Stadium in California. If the two schools agree to the location change, it’s likely that the game would be played earlier in the season. Read Full Story »
BYU and Washington State have finalized a 2012-13 home-and-home football series, BYU announced yesterday. The two-game series was first reported back in October.
BYU will open the 2012 season against Washington State at LaVell Edwards Stadium on Sept. 1. The BYU Cougars will then travel to face the Washington State Cougars at Martin Stadium in 2013 on a date to be determined. Read Full Story »
The Big East has officially announced that Boise State, Houston, San Diego State, SMU and UCF will join the conference in 2013.
The addition of these five schools gives the Big East a total of ten football schools. Boise State and San Diego State will be football-only members, while Houston, SMU and UCF will join in all sports. Read Full Story »
The East Carolina Pirates have completed their 2012 non-conference schedule, the school announced today.
Home non-conference games for East Carolina include Appalachian State on Sept. 1 and Navy on Oct. 27. ECU is 11-19 all-time against the Appalachian State Mountaineers and 0-2 against the Navy Midshipmen. Read Full Story »

Boise State, Houston, San Diego State, SMU and UCF are set to join the Big East Conference in 2013, Brett McMurphy of CBSSports.com has reported.
McMurphy also reported that Navy will join the Big East as soon as the other five schools are official. That would give the conference 11 football members. He also stated that they hope to add Air Force as their 12th school with Temple as a backup plan. Read Full Story »
The Florida Atlantic Owls are scheduled to play at the Nebraska Cornhuskers in the 2014 season, FAUOwlAccess.com has reported.

The Pittsburgh Panthers will open the 2012 season at home against the Youngstown State Penguins, YSU announced today.

BYU and Hawaii have set tentative dates for their 2013 through 2015 football games according to Hawaii’s 2011 football media guide. Back in May, BYU and Hawaii agreed to play almost every year through 2020.
Hawaii will host BYU at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu on Sept. 28, 2013 and again on Nov. 7, 2015. BYU will host Hawaii at LaVell Edwards Stadium in Provo on Oct. 18, 2014. Read Full Story »
