The Vanderbilt Commodores have announced their 2012 football schedule, which features games against Northwestern, Wake Forest, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Missouri and Tennessee.
Vanderbilt opens the 2012 season at home against South Carolina on Thursday, Aug. 30. Vandy was previously scheduled to host Presbyterian on opening weekend, but the game was moved to Sept. 15. Read Full Story »
The SEC will officially release the 2012 football schedule on Wednesday, the conference announced today.
The 2012 schedule will feature two new additions to the schedule, Missouri and Texas A&M. Both schools will leave the Big 12 and officially join the SEC on July 1, 2012.

Texas A&M will open the 2012 season at home against the McNeese State Cowboys, American Press has reported. The game will be the first for the Aggies as a member of the SEC.

Yesterday it was announced that the SEC would not announce their 2012 football schedule until sometime after Christmas. Today, Chris Low of ESPN released a few tidbits about the schedule.

The Rice Owls have added the Notre Dame Fighting Irish to their 2014 football schedule, the school announced today.
Rice will travel to play Notre Dame in South Bend on a date to be determined. The game will be the fifth meeting between the schools.
Notre Dame leads the overall series 4-0. The last meeting between the two schools was Nov. 5, 1988 at Notre Dame Stadium. The Irish won that game 54-11. Read Full Story »
The Virginia Tech Hokies have added the Austin Peay Governors to their 2012 football schedule, the school announced today.
Virginia Tech will host Austin Peay at Lane Stadium in Blacksburg on a date to be announced. The game will be the first ever between the two schools.

The Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders will play at the Mississippi State Bulldogs in 2012, MTSU announced today.
The game will be played at Davis Wade Stadium in Starkville on October 20, 2012. Mississippi State leads the overall series 4-0.

On Tuesday, Arkansas AD Jeff Long tweeted that the schedules should be released “before Christmas.”

Pac-12 commissioner Larry Scott hopes to “expand the presence” of their universities in China. That may happen as Notre Dame and Stanford have discussed playing their 2013 football game there.
The game is currently set for November 30, 2013 at Stanford Stadium in California. If the two schools agree to the location change, it’s likely that the game would be played earlier in the season. Read Full Story »
BYU and Washington State have finalized a 2012-13 home-and-home football series, BYU announced yesterday. The two-game series was first reported back in October.
BYU will open the 2012 season against Washington State at LaVell Edwards Stadium on Sept. 1. The BYU Cougars will then travel to face the Washington State Cougars at Martin Stadium in 2013 on a date to be determined. Read Full Story »
The Big East has officially announced that Boise State, Houston, San Diego State, SMU and UCF will join the conference in 2013.

Boise State, Houston, San Diego State, SMU and UCF are set to join the Big East Conference in 2013, Brett McMurphy of CBSSports.com has reported.
McMurphy also reported that Navy will join the Big East as soon as the other five schools are official. That would give the conference 11 football members. He also stated that they hope to add Air Force as their 12th school with Temple as a backup plan. Read Full Story »
