    Ole MissThe Ole Miss Rebels have announced their 2012 football schedule, which features games against Texas, Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Georgia, Mississippi State and Texas A&M.

    Ole Miss opens the 2012 season on Sept. 1 with a non-conference game at home against the Central Arkansas Bears. Other non-conference games for Ole Miss include UTEP (Sept. 8), Texas (Sept. 15) and at Tulane (Sept. 22). Read Full Story »

    South Carolina GamecocksThe South Carolina Gamecocks have announced their 2012 football schedule, which features games against Clemson, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Missouri and Tennessee.

    South Carolina opens the season on Thursday, Aug. 30 at Vanderbilt. In six of eight seasons under Steve Spurrier, the Gamecocks have opened the season on a Thursday night. Read Full Story »

    Vanderbilt CommodoresThe Vanderbilt Commodores have announced their 2012 football schedule, which features games against Northwestern, Wake Forest, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Missouri and Tennessee.

    Vanderbilt opens the 2012 season at home against South Carolina on Thursday, Aug. 30. Vandy was previously scheduled to host Presbyterian on opening weekend, but the game was moved to Sept. 15. Read Full Story »

    SEC to release 2012 Football Schedule on Wednesday

    SECThe SEC will officially release the 2012 football schedule on Wednesday, the conference announced today.

    The 2012 schedule will feature two new additions to the schedule, Missouri and Texas A&M. Both schools will leave the Big 12 and officially join the SEC on July 1, 2012.

    Texas A&M to open 2012 season at home against McNeese State

    Texas A&MTexas A&M will open the 2012 season at home against the McNeese State Cowboys, American Press has reported. The game will be the first for the Aggies as a member of the SEC.

    As reported earlier today by ESPN, Texas A&M’s first SEC game will be the following week at Kyle Field in College Station against the Florida Gators (Sept. 8). Read Full Story »

    ESPN releases 2012 SEC Football Schedule tidbits

    SECYesterday it was announced that the SEC would not announce their 2012 football schedule until sometime after Christmas. Today, Chris Low of ESPN released a few tidbits about the schedule.

    With the addition of Missouri and Texas A&M to the conference, SEC Commissioner Mike Slive wanted to set them both up with a premier game at home early in the season. Missouri will host Georgia and Texas A&M will host Florida, both likely on Sept. 8. Read Full Story »

    2012 SEC Football Schedule won’t be released before Christmas

    SECThe much anticipated 2012 SEC Football Schedule will not be released before Christmas, the SEC announced this morning on Twitter.

    The SEC tweeted the following on their official Twitter account @SECSportsUpdate:

    Working through final stages of 2012 SEC football schedule. We’ll release once it’s complete, but not before Christmas.

    Last week, Georgia athletic director Greg McGarity and Arkansas athletic director Jeff Long both stated that the 2012 schedules would be released sometime before Christmas. Read Full Story »

    Rice Owls add Notre Dame Fighting Irish to 2014 Football Schedule

    Notre DameRiceThe Rice Owls have added the Notre Dame Fighting Irish to their 2014 football schedule, the school announced today.

    Rice will travel to play Notre Dame in South Bend on a date to be determined. The game will be the fifth meeting between the schools.

    Notre Dame leads the overall series 4-0. The last meeting between the two schools was Nov. 5, 1988 at Notre Dame Stadium. The Irish won that game 54-11. Read Full Story »

    Virginia Tech Hokies add Austin Peay to 2012 Football Schedule

    Virginia Tech HokiesThe Virginia Tech Hokies have added the Austin Peay Governors to their 2012 football schedule, the school announced today.

    Virginia Tech will host Austin Peay at Lane Stadium in Blacksburg on a date to be announced. The game will be the first ever between the two schools.

    Middle Tennessee to play at Mississippi State in 2012

    Mississippi StateMiddle TennesseeThe Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders will play at the Mississippi State Bulldogs in 2012, MTSU announced today.

    The game will be played at Davis Wade Stadium in Starkville on October 20, 2012. Mississippi State leads the overall series 4-0.

    Reports: 2012 SEC Football Schedules to be released next week

    SECThe 2012 SEC football schedules should be released next week, several sources within the conference have indicated.

    On Tuesday, Arkansas AD Jeff Long tweeted that the schedules should be released “before Christmas.”

    Yesterday, UGA athletic director Greg McGarity said on Bulldog Roundtable on 680 the Fan that the 2012 SEC schedules should be released “Monday or Tuesday.” Read Full Story »

    Report: Notre Dame and Stanford may play 2013 Football Game in China

    StanfordNotre DamePac-12 commissioner Larry Scott hopes to “expand the presence” of their universities in China. That may happen as Notre Dame and Stanford have discussed playing their 2013 football game there.

    The game is currently set for November 30, 2013 at Stanford Stadium in California. If the two schools agree to the location change, it’s likely that the game would be played earlier in the season. Read Full Story »

    BYU and Washington State finalize 2012-13 Home-and-home Football Series

    Washington StateBYUBYU and Washington State have finalized a 2012-13 home-and-home football series, BYU announced yesterday. The two-game series was first reported back in October.

    BYU will open the 2012 season against Washington State at LaVell Edwards Stadium on Sept. 1. The BYU Cougars will then travel to face the Washington State Cougars at Martin Stadium in 2013 on a date to be determined. Read Full Story »

    Big East announces addition of five schools for 2013

    Big EastThe Big East has officially announced that Boise State, Houston, San Diego State, SMU and UCF will join the conference in 2013.

    The addition of these five schools gives the Big East a total of ten football schools. Boise State and San Diego State will be football-only members, while Houston, SMU and UCF will join in all sports. Read Full Story »
