With the addition of Missouri and Texas A&M to the SEC in 2012, there is a possibility that the conference will move to a nine-game conference schedule in the future. But could it be as soon as the 2012 season?
South Carolina President Harris Pastides thinks so. On Sunday, Pastides told the Daily Gamecock that the SEC will play nine conference football games each year. The SEC has announced that they have accepted the Missouri Tigers as their 14th member effective July 1, 2012.

The Pittsburgh Panthers and the UCF Knights have cancelled their 2012 football game, The Orlando Sentinel has reported.

The West Virginia Mountaineers have accepted an invitation to join the Big 12 Conference, it was announced today.
West Virginia will become a full member of the Big 12 on July 1, 2012. Their current conference, the Big East, requires a 27-month waiting period before leaving. The release indicates that the Mountaineers will be able to bypass that hurdle. Read Full Story »

The BYU Cougars and Washington State Cougars have scheduled a 2012-13 home-and-home football series, KitsapSun.com has reported.

The partnership will create a single football-only association consisting of 22 teams. That number could change if some members of either C-USA or MWC leave for another conference. The New Mexico Lobos and the UTSA Roadrunners have scheduled a 2013-14 home-and-home football series, UTSA announced today.
New Mexico will host UTSA at University Stadium in Albuquerque on August 31, 2013. On October 4, 2014, the Lobos will travel to face the Roadrunners at the Alamodome in San Antonio.
