    Virginia, UTSA cancel 2013-14 Home-and-home Football Series

    Virginia CavaliersThe Virginia Cavaliers and the UTSA Roadrunners have canceled their future home-and-home football series, MySanAntonio.com has confirmed.

    The cancellation was mutual, as conference realignment has affected the future schedules of both schools. Virginia will begin playing a 9-game ACC schedule in 2013 and they had one too many non-conference games scheduled for both 2013 and 2014. Read Full Story »

    Auburn and Virginia in the 2015 Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game?

    Auburn vs. VirginiaThe 2015 Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game could feature the Auburn Tigers against the Virginia Cavaliers, according to Virginia’s 2012 season ticket holder package.

    Under a listing for future non-conference opponents for the 2015 season, Virginia is listed as playing Auburn in Atlanta. The Chick-fil-A Bowl has not officially announced the match-up and has yet to respond to our request for comment. Read Full Story »

    Virginia Tech Hokies adjust Non-Conference Football Schedules

    Virginia TechDue to the upcoming nine-game football schedule in the ACC, Virginia Tech has updated their future non-conference schedules.

    ACC teams will now play three non-conference games each season, and that forced Virginia Tech to shuffle some games.

    The Daily Press reports that the Hokies have pushed back the start of their four-game, home-and-home series with East Carolina one year to 2015. Read Full Story »

    Big East, Pittsburgh reach agreement for Panthers to join the ACC in 2013

    Big EastThe Big East Conference and Pittsburgh have reached an agreement that will allow the Panthers to leave for the ACC for the 2013 season.

    Pittsburgh’s membership in the Big East will end on July 1, 2013 and the Panthers will officially join the ACC on the same day. Pittsburgh will pay the Big East a one-time fee of $7.5 million for their early departure. Read Full Story »

    Clemson cancels Future Football Games vs. Oklahoma State and Ole Miss

    Clemson TigersAs a result of the new nine-game ACC football schedule, the Clemson Tigers have canceled future football games against Oklahoma State and Ole Miss.

    Clemson was slated to host Ole Miss on Oct. 3, 2015 and travel to face the Rebels on Sept. 10, 2016. The Tigers were also tentatively scheduled to play a home-and-home series against Oklahoma State in 2019 and 2020. Read Full Story »

    Big East, Syracuse reach agreement for Orange to depart for ACC

    Big EastThe Big East Conference and Syracuse have reached an agreement that will allow the Orange to depart for the ACC for the 2013 season.

    Syracuse’s membership in the Big East will be terminated on July 1, 2013 and the Orange will then join the ACC on the same day. In turn, Syracuse will pay the Big East conference a one-time fee of $7.5 million. Read Full Story »

    ACC and Orange Bowl announce 12-year agreement beginning after 2014 regular-season

    The Atlantic Coast Conference and the Orange Bowl Committee have announced a 12-year agreement beginning after the 2014 regular season.

    The agreement places the ACC Champion in the Discover Orange Bowl unless that team is chosen to play in the national semifinals by the BCS selection committee. Read Full Story »

    Nevada may cancel 2013 football game at Florida State

    Florida State-NevadaNevada may cancel their 2013 football game against Florida State, FSU athletic director Randy Spetman said on Thursday.

    Florida State is currently slated to host Nevada at Doak Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee on Sept. 21, 2013. The game, which has been on the schedule since 2005, would be the first ever meeting between the two schools.

    If Nevada does cancel the game, Spetman says they would owe the Seminoles $600,000. Read Full Story »

    SEC to add Independence Bowl for 2012 and 2013 Seasons

    AdvoCare V100 Independence BowlThe SEC is set to add the AdvoCare V100 Independence Bowl as a tie-in for the 2012 and 2013 seasons. The official announcement, which could come as early as today, would give the SEC a record 10 bowl tie-ins.

    The SEC would replace the Mountain West, which opted to take a spot in the Armed Forces Bowl in Fort Worth, Texas. The MWC made that move after BYU signed agreements to play in the 2012 Poinsettia Bowl and the 2013 Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl. Read Full Story »

    Virginia, Stanford schedule 2017-18 Home-and-home Football Series

    Scott StadiumThe Virginia Cavaliers have scheduled a 2017-18 home-and-home football series with the Stanford Cardinal, Virginia’s official website indicates.

    Virginia will host the series opener at Scott Stadium in Charlottesville on Sept. 9, 2017 while the final game will be played at Stanford Stadium on Sept. 8, 2018. The 2017 game will be the first ever meeting between these two schools. Read Full Story »

    What would a Florida State Big 12 Football Schedule look like?

    Florida State-OklahomaThere’s been a lot of talk the past few days about Florida State possibly being interested in leaving the ACC for the Big 12.

    Last week, Chip Brown wrote that the Seminoles should consider a move to the Big 12 for financial reasons. Saturday FSU Board of Trustees Chairman Andy Haggard openly blasted the new ACC television deal and said “…we would be in favor of seeing what the Big 12 might have to offer.     Florida State Future Football Schedules nearly complete through 2015

    Florida StateFlorida State’s future football schedules are nearly complete through the 2015 season after the Orlando Sentinel obtained information on a few new games this afternoon.

    The Seminoles will open the 2013 season at Doak Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee against the Wofford Terriers. FSU is 3-0 all-time against Wofford, but the two schools haven’t met since 1952. Read Full Story »

    Florida State considering a move to the Big 12?

    Florida State SeminolesAre the Florida State Seminoles considering a move to the Big 12 Conference? They should be, according to Chip Brown of OrangeBloods.com.

    Yesterday, the ACC and ESPN announced an extension to their exclusive media rights package through 2026-27. Reports indicate that the revenue for football and basketball will rise from $13 million to around $17 million per school. Read Full Story »

    Rice postpones 2013 football game at Wake Forest

    Rice OwlsRice has postponed their 2013 football game at Wake Forest, MyFoxHouston.com has reported.

    The Owls were scheduled to face the Demon Deacons at BB&T Field in Winston-Salem, NC on Sept. 7, 2013. According to Rice athletics director Rick Greenspan, a new date is “being negotiated.”
