    Report: Big East, West Virginia reach $20 million settlement

    Big EastThe Big East and the West Virginia Mountaineers have reached a $20 million settlement, the Charleston Daily Mail has reported.

    Reports indicate that West Virginia will pay the conference $11 million to leave early for the Big 12. Other Big 12 schools will contribute the other $9 million. Read Full Story »

    Florida State contacts BCS schools to fill West Virginia void on 2012 Schedule

    Florida State SeminolesThe Florida State Seminoles have contacted several BCS schools to replace West Virginia on their 2012 football schedule, the Orlando Sentinel has reported.

    2012 Big 12 Football Schedule to be released “in the near future”

    Big 12The 2012 Big 12 football schedule will be released “in the near future” according to Bob Burda, the Big 12 associate commissioner/communications.

    The schedule, which includes both TCU and West Virginia, was delivered to the Big 12’s television partners today just before the Feb. 1 deadline. In a statement, the Big 12 said: “The Big 12 Conference has provided a ten-team 2012 football schedule to its television partners and expects to release it publicly in the near future.” Read Full Story »

    Memphis discussing series with Vanderbilt, has verbals with Kansas & Ole Miss

    Memphis TigersThe Memphis Tigers are in discussions to play a future football series against the Vanderbilt Commodores, The Commercial Appeal has reported. Memphis also has verbal agreements to play Kansas and Ole Miss.

    Memphis Athletics Director R.C. Johnson said that the Tigers could play Vanderbilt as early as 2013 if one of their currently scheduled non-conference opponents cancels. Those opponents are Arkansas State, Duke, Louisville and Middle Tennessee. Read Full Story »

    Texas Tech to open 2012 season at home vs. Northwestern State

    Texas Tech Red RaidersThe Texas Tech Red Raiders will open the 2012 season at home against the Northwestern State Demons. The date was confirmed yesterday when NSU released their 2012 schedule.

    Texas Tech will host Northwestern State at Jones AT&T Stadium in Lubbock on Saturday, Sept. 1, 2012. The two schools first and only meeting was in 2007. The Red Raiders pummeled the Demons 75-7. Read Full Story »

    Report: Oklahoma and Rutgers discussing 2012 football game at MetLife Stadium

    RutgersOklahomaThe Oklahoma Sooners and the Rutgers Scarlet Knights are in discussions to play a football game in 2012 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

    Both schools are in need of non-conference games to complete their 2012 football schedules. How many depends on West Virginia’s lawsuit to leave the Big East and compete in the Big 12 in 2012. Read Full Story »

    Texas Tech President “very hopeful” West Virginia will be in Big 12 in 2012

    Big 12Texas Tech President Guy Bailey is “very hopeful” that West Virginia will be in the Big 12 in 2012. Bailey spoke to in wake of the upcoming 2012 Big 12 football schedules.

    “West Virginia has assured us they’d be in there,” Bailey said. “I believe them and I’m very hopeful… I think all of the realignment issues will be resolved in the next two weeks. I won’t guarantee it, but we are making progress.” Read Full Story »

    WVU AD: “No question” the Mountaineers will play a Big 12 schedule in 2012

    West VirginiaWest Virginia Athletic Director Oliver Luck says that “there is no question” that the Mountaineers will play a Big 12 football schedule in 2012.

    In a conversation with, Luck had the following to say regarding West Virginia’s imminent move to the Big 12:

    Report: West Virginia may cancel 2012 game at Florida State

    West VirginiaThe West Virginia Mountaineers are in discussions to cancel their 2012 football game at Florida State, the Tallahassee Democrat has reported.

    West Virginia is currently slated to face the Seminoles at Doak Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee on Sept. 8, 2012. FSU is scheduled to return the trip to Morgantown on Sept. 14, 2013. Read Full Story »

    Report: TCU to play at Texas on Thanksgiving

    UCLA Bruins to play Texas Longhorns at Cowboys Stadium in 2014

    Cowboys StadiumThe UCLA Bruins will play the Texas Longhorns at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, the Los Angeles Times has reported.

    UCLA and Texas are set to play on September 13, 2014. The Bruins and Longhorns have met six times with the series tied at three games each.

    The two schools recently completed a home-and-home series. UCLA won 34-12 in Austin in 2010 and Texas won 49-20 in Los Angeles earlier this season. Read Full Story »

    Report: UCF and Oklahoma working on Home-and-home Football Series

    Missouri Tigers to join the SEC in 2012

    SECThe SEC has announced that they have accepted the Missouri Tigers as their 14th member effective July 1, 2012.
