The Big East and the West Virginia Mountaineers have reached a $20 million settlement, the Charleston Daily Mail has reported.
Reports indicate that West Virginia will pay the conference $11 million to leave early for the Big 12. Other Big 12 schools will contribute the other $9 million. Read Full Story »
The Florida State Seminoles have contacted several BCS schools to replace West Virginia on their 2012 football schedule, the Orlando Sentinel has reported.

The 2012 Big 12 football schedule will be released “in the near future” according to Bob Burda, the Big 12 associate commissioner/communications.
The schedule, which includes both TCU and West Virginia, was delivered to the Big 12’s television partners today just before the Feb. 1 deadline. The Memphis Tigers are in discussions to play a future football series against the Vanderbilt Commodores, The Commercial Appeal has reported. Memphis also has verbal agreements to play Kansas and Ole Miss.
Memphis Athletics Director R.C. Johnson said that the Tigers could play Vanderbilt as early as 2013 if one of their currently scheduled non-conference opponents cancels. Those opponents are Arkansas State, Duke, Louisville and Middle Tennessee. Read Full Story »
The Texas Tech Red Raiders will open the 2012 season at home against the Northwestern State Demons. The date was confirmed yesterday when NSU released their 2012 schedule.
Texas Tech will host Northwestern State at Jones AT&T Stadium in Lubbock on Saturday, Sept. 1, 2012. The two schools first and only meeting was in 2007. The Red Raiders pummeled the Demons 75-7. Read Full Story »

Texas Tech President Guy Bailey is “very hopeful” that West Virginia will be in the Big 12 in 2012. Bailey spoke to RedRaiderSports.com in wake of the upcoming 2012 Big 12 football schedules.

West Virginia Athletic Director Oliver Luck says that “there is no question” that the Mountaineers will play a Big 12 football schedule in 2012.

The UCLA Bruins will play the Texas Longhorns at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, the Los Angeles Times has reported.
UCLA and Texas are set to play on September 13, 2014. The Bruins and Longhorns have met six times with the series tied at three games each.
The two schools recently completed a home-and-home series. UCLA won 34-12 in Austin in 2010 and Texas won 49-20 in Los Angeles earlier this season. Read Full Story »
The UCF Knights and the Oklahoma Sooners are close to finalizing a home-and-home football series, UCFSports.com has reported.
The series would begin next year at Bright House Networks Stadium in Orlando. UCF would then travel to Norman to face Oklahoma in 2013. The games would be the first ever between the two schools. Read Full Story »
