The Oklahoma State Cowboys and the Mississippi State Bulldogs are in discussions to play at Reliant Stadium in Houston in 2013, NewsOK has reported.
The game would be played on August 31, which would be the season-opener for both schools.
If the match-up is finalized, it would be the fifth meeting between the two schools and second game to be played off campus. The first meeting occurred in Jackson, MS in 1970, with the remaining games played in Stillwater (1971 and 1998) and Starkville (1999). The series is tied at two games each. Read Full Story »
The Big 12 has announced their early season 2012 football TV schedule. The season kicks off on Saturday, Sept. 1 with new conference member West Virginia hosting Marshall at noon on FX.

The Kansas Jayhawks and the Rutgers Scarlet Knights have scheduled a home-and-home football series for 2015 and 2018, the two schools announced today.
Kansas will travel to face Rutgers at High Point Solutions Stadium in Piscataway on Sept. 26, 2015. The Jayhawks will then host the Scarlet Knights at Memorial Stadium in Lawrence on Sept. 15, 2018. The two schools have never met before in football. Read Full Story »

The Liberty Flames will travel to Morgantown to face the West Virginia Mountaineers in 2015, Liberty has announced.
An exact date for the contest will be determined later. The game will be only the second meeting ever between the two schools. West Virginia beat Liberty 33-20 in 2009 in Morgantown.

The TCU Horned Frogs will play at the Texas Longhorns on Thanksgiving, according to the 2012 Big 12 Football Media Guide that was released today.
Texas will host TCU at Darrell K. Royal – Texas Memorial Stadium on Thursday, Nov. 22. TCU, who officially joined the Big 12 on July 1, replaces Texas’ annual holiday weekend game against the Texas A&M Aggies. Read Full Story »
As a result of the new nine-game ACC football schedule, the Clemson Tigers have canceled future football games against Oklahoma State and Ole Miss.
Clemson was slated to host Ole Miss on Oct. 3, 2015 and travel to face the Rebels on Sept. 10, 2016. The Tigers were also tentatively scheduled to play a home-and-home series against Oklahoma State in 2019 and 2020. Read Full Story »
Air Force and Oklahoma State were slated to meet home-and-home in 2015 and 2016, but the two schools have mutually agreed to drop the two-game football series.

The TCU Horned Frogs and the West Virginia Mountaineers are official members of the Big 12 Conference today. The Big 12 remains at 10 members after losing Missouri and Texas A&M to the SEC.
Since the Big 12 has only ten teams, the conference is not split into divisions. TCU and West Virginia will play every other member of the Big 12 on a yearly rotating basis.

The Akron Zips and the Iowa State Cyclones have scheduled a home-and-home football series for 2018 and 2019, ISU announced today via Twitter.
Iowa State will host Akron at Jack Trice Stadium in Ames on Sept. 22, 2018. The final game of the series will have the Zips hosting the Cyclones at InfoCision Stadium – Summa Field in Akron on Sept. 7, 2019.

Notre Dame is reportedly close to moving their Olympic sports to the Big 12 and, as part of the agreement, could eventually schedule up to six football games per season against Big 12 teams.
Sources told Chip Brown of OrangeBloods.com that Notre Dame would likely play “three or so” football games against the Big 12 to start with before eventually adding more.
This doesn’t mean that Notre Dame is joining the Big 12 in football, only creating a scheduling agreement similar to what they currently have with the Big East. Read Full Story »
Texas Tech came close to canceling their Sept. 8, 2012 game at Texas State because the game could have been picked up by the Longhorn Network, RedRaiderSports.com has reported.
The game was slated to be picked up by one of the ESPN networks, but the exact channel hasn’t been announced yet. A source told RRS that Texas Tech is “adamantly opposed to playing on the Longhorn Network” and is “putting serious consideration into canceling the game and playing an 11 game schedule.” Read Full Story »
In a conference call this morning, the Big Ten Conference announced that their presidents prefer the “status quo” over a four-team college football playoff.
“If the Big Ten presidents were to vote today, we would vote for the status quo,” Nebraska chancellor Harvey Perlman said on the conference call. “We think it best serves college football. We think it best protects our student-athletes. I don’t think any of us are anxious … to ask our student-athletes to play a 15th game.” Read Full Story »
The SEC and the Big 12 have announced a partnership that will pit their conference champions against each other in a New Year’s Day bowl game.
The agreement between the two conferences is for five years and begins following the 2014 football season (Jan. 1, 2015). The host site, TV partner and name of the bowl game will be announced at a later date. For now, the game has the working title “Champions Bowl.” Read Full Story »
The Alabama Crimson Tide will face the West Virginia Mountaineers in the second game of the 2014 Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game, Chick-fil-A officials announced this afternoon.
Alabama and West Virginia will meet at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta on Saturday, Aug. 28, 2014. The game will be the first ever meeting between the two schools.
