The Alabama Crimson Tide will face the West Virginia Mountaineers in the second game of the 2014 Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game, Chick-fil-A officials announced this afternoon.
Alabama and West Virginia will meet at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta on Saturday, Aug. 28, 2014. The game will be the first ever meeting between the two schools.
The match-up will be the second game of the 2014 Chick-fil-A Kickoff.

Speaking at a Crimson Caravan event, Alabama head coach Nick Saban said the Crimson Tide will face West Virginia to open the 2014 season in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game.

There’s been a lot of talk the past few days about Florida State possibly being interested in leaving the ACC for the Big 12.
Last week, Chip Brown wrote that the Seminoles should consider a move to the Big 12 for financial reasons. Saturday FSU Board of Trustees Chairman Andy Haggard openly blasted the new ACC television deal and said “…we would be in favor of seeing what the Big 12 might have to offer. We have to do what is in Florida State’s best interest.”

Yesterday, the ACC and ESPN announced an extension to their exclusive media rights package through 2026-27. Reports indicate that the revenue for football and basketball will rise from $13 million to around $17 million per school.

Florida State athletic director Randy Spetman announced yesterday that they have reached an agreement with West Virginia on the cancellation of their 2012-13 football series.
West Virginia has agreed to pay Florida State $500,000 for the cancellation of the 2012 game which was to be played in Tallahassee on Sept. 8. FSU had to scramble to replace the game and ended up scheduling Savannah State.

In a letter to K-State Nation, athletics director John Currie announced that the Wildcats have completed their 2013 non-conference football schedule.
Kansas State will open the 2013 season at home against the North Dakota State Bison on Aug. 31. K-State will also host Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajuns and the UMass Minutemen. Dates for those games will be announced at a later date.

Two Baylor football games have been moved to accommodate television broadcasts, the school announced this afternoon.
Baylor’s season-opener at home against the SMU Mustangs, originally scheduled for Sept. 1, has been moved to Sunday, Sept, 2. The game will be televised by FSN at 5:30 p.m. CT.

The Ohio Bobcats have scheduled a home-and-home football series against the Kansas Jayhawks (2016-17) and the Cincinnati Bearcats (2018 & 2020), the school announced today.
Ohio will travel to face Kansas at Memorial Stadium in Lawrence on Sept. 10, 2016. The Jayhawks will then make their first ever trip to face the Bobcats at Peden Stadium in Athens on Sept. 16, 2017.

The Oklahoma Sooners have completed their 2012 football schedule with the addition of non-conference games against Florida A&M and UTEP, the school announced this morning.
OU will open the 2012 season at the Sun Bowl in El Paso against the UTEP Miners on Sept. 1. The Sooners are 2-0 all-time against the Miners after games in 2000 and 2002.

The Big 12 officially announced their 2012 football schedules this morning. Conference play begins on September 15 with TCU at Kansas.
TCU joins the Big 12 this season after competing in the Mountain West Conference since 2005. The Horned Frogs are also former members of the Southwest Conference, which broke up in 1995 and became the Big 12.
