    Report: BYU invited to join Big East Conference

    Big EastThe BYU Cougars have been invited to join the Big East Conference, Deseret News has reported. BYU would join the Big East in football only.

    Jim Williams of the Washington Examiner told the Deseret News that his sources indicate “an invitation has been extended and that BYU officials are in favor of a move to the Big East.” Read Full Story »

    Ohio State replaces Cincinnati with UCF on 2012 Football Schedule

    Ohio StateThe Ohio State Buckeyes have replaced Cincinnati with UCF on their 2012 football schedule, BuckeyeExtra.com has reported.

    Pittsburgh and UCF cancel 2012 Football Game; Knights may face Ohio State

    The Pittsburgh Panthers and the UCF Knights have cancelled their 2012 football game, The Orlando Sentinel has reported.

    UCF was scheduled to travel to Pittsburgh on September 8, 2012. Due to realignment, the Panthers asked to cancel the agreement and the Knights agreed. Read Full Story »

    West Virginia to join Big 12 Conference in 2012

    Big 12The West Virginia Mountaineers have accepted an invitation to join the Big 12 Conference, it was announced today.

    West Virginia will become a full member of the Big 12 on July 1, 2012. Their current conference, the Big East, requires a 27-month waiting period before leaving. The release indicates that the Mountaineers will be able to bypass that hurdle. Read Full Story »

    Report: West Virginia to join the Big 12 Conference

    Big 12The West Virginia Mountaineers have applied to and been accepted to join the Big 12 Conference, The Charleston Daily Mail has reported.

    An official announcement from the Big 12 has not been released. West Virginia would replace the Missouri Tigers, who are expected to leave for the SEC. Read Full Story »

    Pittsburgh and Syracuse to join the ACC

    ACCThe Pittsburgh Panthers and the Syracuse Orange have both applied to and been accepted as new members of the ACC, the conference announced today. The addition brings the ACC to a total of 14 schools.

    Pittsburgh and Syracuse will each have to pay a $5 million dollar exit fee for leaving the Big East. In addition, Big East by-laws state that schools who leave the conference must provide 27 months’ notice. Read Full Story »

    TCU announces 2012 Big East Opponents and Locations

    TCUThe 2012 football season will be the first for the TCU Horned Frogs in the Big East conference. Yesterday at the Big East media days, TCU athletics director Chris Del Conte announced their 2012 Big East opponents and locations.

    The addition of TCU will give the Big East nine members in 2012. Each school will play each other, continuing the true round-robin conference schedule. The only change for the current members is a reduction in non-conference games from five to four. Read Full Story »

    Purdue Boilermakers announce changes to Future Football Schedules

    PurdueThe Purdue Boilermakers have announced changes to their future football schedules, including the cancellation of two games against the Cincinnati Bearcats.

    Purdue was scheduled to host Cincinnati on Aug. 30, 2014 and travel to face the Bearcats on Sept. 5, 2015. Both of those games have been cancelled. The two schools will still meet on Aug. 31, 2013 at Cincinnati and Sept. 3, 2016 at Purdue. Read Full Story »

    West Virginia to host James Madison at FedEx Field in 2012

    West VirginiaJames MadisonThe West Virginia Mountaineers are close to finalizing an agreement to host the James Madison Dukes at FedEx Field on September 15, 2012, DailyMail.com has reported.

    This will be the second meeting between the two schools. West Virginia beat James Madison 45-10 in 2004. The Dukes went on to win the 1-AA National Championship that year. Read Full Story »

    Miami (OH) extends Home-and-home Football Series with Cincinnati & Marshall

    Miami (OH)The Miami (OH) RedHawks have extended home-and-home football series’ with Cincinnati and Marshall. The games are listed on Miami’s official website.

    The RedHawks will host the Cincinnati Bearcats at Yager Stadium in Oxford on September 16, 2017. Miami will then travel to face Cincinnati at Nippert Stadium on September 15, 2018. Read Full Story »

    Maryland to play two Future Football Games at M&T Bank Stadium

    MarylandThe Maryland Terrapins will play two future football games at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, the school announced today.

    Maryland will face the West Virginia Mountaineers of the Big East on September 21, 2013. In 2014, the Terrapins will play ACC foe Virginia Tech. The exact date will be determined when the ACC releases the schedule in 2014. Read Full Story »
