The Miami Hurricanes and the Nebraska Cornhuskers are set to begin a football series in 2014. But the series may not be played as agreed to, according to the Lincoln Journal Star.
Miami and Nebraska, which agreed to the home-and-home series back in 2008, are set to meet in Lincoln in 2014 and in Miami in 2015. Sources told the Journal Star that the series “may be in jeopardy.”
Nebraska athletics director Tom Osborne responded to the rumors by stating that the Cornhuskers remain “committed to the series.” Read Full Story »
The Miami (OH) RedHawks have updated their future football schedules, interim athletic director Steve Snyder announced today.
Miami has added games against Eastern Kentucky in 2014 and Michigan State in 2017, and also announced a date for their 2016 game at Cincinnati.
The RedHawks will host the Eastern Kentucky Colonels at Yager Stadium on Sept. 6, 2014. Read Full Story »
The Michigan State Spartans have added the Furman Paladins to their 2016 football schedule, Furman announced this afternoon.
Furman will travel to face Michigan State at Spartan Stadium in East Lansing on Sept. 17, 2016. The two schools have never met in football.
“We’re pleased to add Michigan State to our 2016 football schedule and look forward to the challenge,” Furman director of athletics Dr. Gary Clark said.

While looking at the top 25 schedule for Saturday, it quickly dawned on me that this week is pretty much a dog week (whenever ESPN College Gameday is on an aircraft carrier, that’s a pretty good sign). I think the top 2 teams (Alabama, K-State) will run roughshod over their two opponents (Texas A&M, TCU). Oregon and Notre Dame have two cupcake games Saturday, so the top four should remain unchanged.
I then took a look at the Big 10 and saw a matchup between two programs that normally would have big time bowl ramifications. Nebraska and Penn State are two of the most successful programs in college football, and their fan bases are some of the most dedicated in the country. Read Full Story »
The Michigan Wolverines have added games against Arkansas, BYU, Hawaii, Miami (OH), and Ball State to their future football schedules, the school announced today.
Michigan will play the Arkansas Razorbacks in a home-and-home series beginning in 2018 at Michigan Stadium (Sept. 1) and culminating in 2019 at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium (Aug. 31). Both games will be season openers.
The Wolverines and Razorbacks met for the first and only time in the 1999 CompUSA Florida Citrus Bowl. Michigan won 45-31. Read Full Story »
Nebraska and Oklahoma have agreed in principle to play a 2021-22 home-and-home football series, the Omaha World-Herald has reported.
The first game is expected to be played at Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium in Norman in 2021 with the second game at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln in 2022.

The Ohio State Buckeyes have added the San Diego State Aztecs to their 2013 football schedule, the school announced today.
Ohio State will host San Diego State at Ohio Stadium on Sept. 7, 2013. The two schools met three times in the early 2000’s and the Buckeyes came away with the win in each contest.
With the addition of the SDSU game on Sept. 7, Ohio State has moved their home contest against Florida A&M to Sept. 21. Buffalo occupied the Sept. 21 position on OSU’s schedule and has been moved to the season opener on Aug. 31. Read Full Story »
Ohio State and Boston College have scheduled a home-and-home football series for 2020 and 2021, the two schools announced today.
Ohio State will host the first game of the series at Ohio Stadium on Sept. 19, 2020. The second and final game will be played at Boston College’s Alumni Stadium on Sept. 18, 2021.

Ohio State could host the San Diego State Aztecs in 2013, according to a report by The Columbus Dispatch.
The Buckeyes have been searching for a non-conference game in 2013 to replace their Aug. 31 season-opener against Vanderbilt, which was recently canceled by the Commodores. San Diego State has apparently emerged as the most likely candidate.
Ohio State has been in talks with Buffalo to move their game, previously announced as Sept. 21, to the season-opener on Aug. 31. San Diego State would then be placed into the Sept. 21 slot or they could switch with Florida A&M (Sept. 7). Read Full Story »

Oregon will host the first game of the series at Autzen Stadium in Eugene on Sept. 12, 2020. The second and final game will be played at Ohio Stadium in Columbus on Sept. 11, 2021.

The Northwestern Wildcats have added the Western Michigan Broncos to their 2013 football schedule, the school announced today.
Northwestern will host Western Michigan at Ryan Field in Evanston on Sept. 14, 2013. The game will be the first ever meeting between the two schools.

The Maryland Terrapins and the Wisconsin Badgers have scheduled a home-and-home series for 2020 and 2021, the schools announced today.
Maryland will travel to face Wisconsin at Camp Randall Stadium in Madison on Sept. 12, 2020. The Terrapins will then host the Badgers at Byrd Stadium in College Park on Sept. 11, 2021.
The two schools have never met in football. Maryland is 4-44-1 all-time against teams from the Big Ten, while Wisconsin is 6-3 versus the ACC. Read Full Story »
Vanderbilt has canceled their 2013-14 home-and-home series vs. Northwestern, the Chicago Tribune has reported.
The two schools were set to meet on Sept. 14, 2013 at Vanderbilt Stadium in Nashville and on Sept. 13, 2014 at Ryan Field in Evanston.
According to the Tribune, Vanderbilt sent a letter to Northwestern canceling the games and did not make telephone contact at all. Read Full Story »
The Minnesota Golden Gophers have announced several changes to their future football schedules, including the cancellation of a home-and-home series with North Carolina.
Minnesota and North Carolina were set to meet on Sept. 7, 2013 in Chapel Hill and Sept. 13, 2014 in Minneapolis. No reason was specified for the cancellation of these two games. Read Full Story »
BYU will face Wisconsin in a home-and-home football series in 2017 and 2018, BYU director of athletics Tom Holmoe announced today.
Brigham Young will host the first game of the series at LaVell Edwards Stadium in Provo in 2017 before traveling to face Wisconsin at Camp Randall Stadium in Madison in 2018. Exact dates were not announced.
“We are exited to announce this series with the Badgers,” said BYU director of athletics Tom Holmoe. “We’re always looking for opportunities to schedule storied football programs like Wisconsin.
