    Wisconsin Badgers announce 2013 Football Schedule

    Camp Randall StadiumThe Wisconsin Badgers officially announced their 2013 football schedule today, which includes a rumored home game against the BYU Cougars.
    Wisconsin opens the 2013 season against UMass on Aug. 31, followed by a home game against Tennessee Tech on Sept. 7 and a trip to Arizona State on Sept. 14.

    BYU travels to Camp Randall Stadium on Nov. 9 to complete the non-conference portion of Wisconsin’s 2013 schedule. The two schools are also in discussions for future games.Read Full Story »

    NCAA to announce ‘Unprecedented’ Penalties against Penn State

    Penn StateThe NCAA will announce “unprecedented” penalties against Penn State as a result of the Jerry Sandusky sex abuse scandal, according to a report by CBS News. The penalties will be announced at a news conference Monday at 9 a.m. ET.

    “I’ve never seen anything like it,” the source told CBS News correspondent Armen Keteyian.

    The NCAA said they will levy “corrective and punitive” actions against the school. That likely means the penalties will be a substantial fine in the tens of millions of dollars and actions against the football program, such as a loss of scholarships, bowl ban, TV ban, etc.Read Full Story »

    Report: BYU, Wisconsin agree to Home-and-home Football Series

    Camp Randall StadiumBYU and Wisconsin have finalized a home-and-home football series, according to a report today by Tom Mulhern of the Wisconsin State Journal.

    Wisconsin would host BYU at Camp Randall Stadium in Madison in 2013. The Badgers would then return the trip to LaVell Edwards Stadium in Provo on a date to be announced.

    BYU and Wisconsin have been rumored to be in discussions for a series for some time now. Read Full Story »

    Big Ten, Pac-12 Suspend Future Scheduling Agreement

    Big Ten and Pac-12The Big Ten Conference announced today that the Big Ten and Pac-12 have suspended their future scheduling agreement for football and all other sports.

    Big Ten Commissioner Jim Delany said that the Pac-12′s nine-game conference schedule and “previous non-conference commitments” made the task of matching up 24 teams across two conferences “too difficult.”

    Although the agreement would have created some compelling match-ups, it would also have made schedules for some of the Pac-12 teams much tougher.Read Full Story »

    Michigan Wolverines announce 2014-16 Non-Conference Football Opponents

    The Michigan Wolverines announced several non-conference opponents for the 2014 through 2016 seasons today, highlighted by match-ups against Colorado and Utah.

    Michigan will open the 2014 season at home against Appalachian State on Aug. 30, followed by a trip to face Notre Dame on Sept. 6. The Wolverines then return home to host Miami (OH) on Sept. 13 and Utah on Sept. 20.Read Full Story »

    Report: Michigan, Utah close to scheduling Home-and-home Football Series

    Brady Hoke (2012 Sugar Bowl)The long-term football scheduling agreement between the Big Ten and Pac-12 isn’t set to begin until 2017, but that isn’t stopping some teams from getting in on the action beforehand.

    Chris Balas of TheWolverine.com tweeted today that Michigan is close to signing a home-and-home football series with the Utah Utes. The series would reportedly begin in Ann Arbor in 2014 and close at Utah on a Thursday in 2015.Read Full Story »

    Big Ten presidents prefer ‘status quo’ over four-team college football playoff

    Big TenIn a conference call this morning, the Big Ten Conference announced that their presidents prefer the “status quo” over a four-team college football playoff.

    “If the Big Ten presidents were to vote today, we would vote for the status quo,” Nebraska chancellor Harvey Perlman said on the conference call. “We think it best serves college football. We think it best protects our student-athletes. I don’t think any of us are anxious … to ask our student-athletes to play a 15th game.”Read Full Story »

    Ohio State, Georgia cancel 2020-21 Home-and-home Football Series

    Georgia-Ohio StateOhio State and Georgia have canceled their 2020-21 home-and-home football series, FBSchedules.com has learned through documents obtained from UGA.

    The Buckeyes and Bulldogs signed a memorandum of understanding to play the two game series back in December 2010. But the two schools were unable to come up with dates for the games which has resulted in their cancellation.Read Full Story »

    Northwestern adds games vs. Eastern Illinois & Western Michigan, drops Army

    NorthwesternThe Northwestern Wildcats have added future non-conference football games against Western Michigan and Eastern Illinois and dropped a game against Army, the school announced this week.

    Northwestern will host Eastern Illinois at Ryan Field in Evanston, IL on Sept. 12, 2015. The game completed their 2015 football schedule, which was officially announced on Tuesday.

    Northwestern was scheduled to host Army in 2015, but that game was replaced by the contest against Eastern Illinois.Read Full Story »

    Land Grant Rivalry set to resume in 2015-16

    Michigan State vs. Penn State (2010)With the release of the 2015-16 Big Ten football schedule yesterday, the Land Grant rivalry between Michigan State and Penn State is set to resume.

    Michigan State will host Penn State at Spartan Stadium in East Lansing on Nov. 14, 2015. The Spartans will then travel to face the Nittany Lions at Beaver Stadium in University Park on Nov. 12, 2016.Read Full Story »

    Big TenThe Big Ten has announced their 2015 and 2016 conference football schedules. The Big Ten Championship Games will be played on December 5, 2015 and December 3, 2016.

    Big Ten teams will continue to play an 8-game conference schedule after agreeing to a long-term scheduling agreement with the Pac-12. The B1G was previously slated to begin playing >nine conference games in 2017.Read Full Story »

    2012 Big Ten Prime Time Football TV Schedule Announced

    Michigan-Ohio StateThe Big Ten has announced their 2012 prime time football TV schedule. A total of 14 games were announced that will appear on ABC, ESPN, ESPN2 and the Big Ten Network.

    The schedule kicks off on Friday, Aug. 31 with a non-conference game featuring Boise State at Michigan State at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN. The B1G conference schedule kicks off on Saturday, Sept. 29 with Wisconsin visiting Nebraska at 8 p.m. on ABC, ESPN or ESPN2.Read Full Story »

    Minnesota announces changes to Future Football Schedules

    Minnesota Golden GophersThe Minnesota Golden Gophers announced a few changes to their future football schedules this morning.

    On Sept. 6, 2014, Minnesota will host the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders at TCF Bank Stadium.

    The Golden Gophers were previously scheduled to travel to Miami (OH) on Sept. 6, 2014, but will now make the trip to face the RedHawks on Sept. 17, 2016.Read Full Story »
