    2013 Conference USA Football Schedules announced

    Conference USAThe 2013 Conference USA football schedules have been released. Conference play begins on Sept. 7 when Florida Atlantic travels to face East Carolina.

    For 2013, Conference USA welcomes new members Florida Atlantic, Florida International, Louisiana Tech, Middle Tennessee, North Texas, and UTSA. Houston, Memphis, SMU, and UCF have each left Conference USA to join the Big East. Read Full Story »

    UCF, Penn State schedule 2013 & 2014/15 Home-and-home Football Series

    Beaver StadiumThe UCF Knights and the Penn State Nittany Lions have scheduled a 2013-14 home-and-home football series, the Orlando Sentinel has reported.

    UCF will travel to face Penn State at Beaver Stadium on Sept. 14, 2013. The Knights will then host the Nittany Lions at Bright House Networks Stadium in Orlando on a date to be announced in 2014. Read Full Story »

    Conference USA announces Division Alignment & 2013 Opponents

    Conference USAConference USA has announced their new division alignment and has also set the home and away opponents for the 2013 season.

    For 2013, Conference USA welcomes new members Florida Atlantic, Florida International, Louisiana Tech, Middle Tennessee, North Texas, and UTSA. FIU and FAU are both joining the league one year earlier than was previously expected. Read Full Story »

    FAU, MTSU leaving Sun Belt early to join C-USA in 2013

    C-USA 2013The Florida Atlantic Owls and the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders will join Conference USA in 2013 rather than 2014, Sun Belt commissioner Karl Benson confirmed Friday evening.

    Both schools were set to join C-USA on July 1, 2014 but moved up their timetable. They join Florida International and North Texas who are also leaving the Sun Belt for C-USA. Read Full Story »

    2013 College Football Schedule: Teams that need Non-Conference Games

    Missouri TigersMost teams have their 2013 non-conference football schedules set, but there are eight teams that still need one game: Duke, Syracuse, Wake Forest, Marshall, Tulane, BYU, Missouri, and Texas State.

    In addition, there will be four teams from the Mountain West that can play a 13-game schedule (5 non-conference games) based on the Hawaii Exemption. Under that rule, teams that play at Hawaii have the option of adding a 13th game to offset travel costs. Read Full Story »

    Louisiana Tech announces 2013 Non-Conference Football Schedule

    Louisiana Tech BulldogsThe Louisiana Tech Bulldogs have announced their 2013 non-conference football schedule, which features games against NC State and Kansas.

    Tech opens the 2013 season at the NC State Wolfpack of the ACC on Aug. 31. The two schools have never met on the football field.

    The following week, the Bulldogs host their only non-conference game at home against the Lamar Cardinals. Read Full Story »

    Charlotte to play at Kansas State in 2016

    Bill Snyder Family Football StadiumThe Charlotte 49ers have announced that they have added the Kansas State Wildcats to their 2016 football schedule.

    Charlotte will travel to face Kansas State at Bill Snyder Family Football Stadium in Manhattan on Sept. 10, 2016. The game will be the first ever meeting between the two schools.

    “We know those guys out there and we’ve talked about scheduling a game and it’s worked out,” Charlotte head coach Brad Lambert said. Read Full Story »

    Houston, Louisiana Tech cancel 2013-14 Football Games

    Houston-Louisiana TechThe Houston Cougars and the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs have mutually agreed to cancel their 2013 and 2014 football games, UH assistant athletics director David Bassity confirmed to FBSchedules.com.

    Houston was scheduled to host Louisiana Tech on Sept. 7, 2013 and travel to face the Bulldogs on Sept. 13, 2014.

    The Cougars further confirmed the cancellation today when they announced that their four non-conference opponents in 2013 are BYU, Rice, Southern, and UTSA. Read Full Story »

    Old Dominion, Virginia Tech Schedule 3-Game Football Series

    Old Dominion-Virginia TechThe Old Dominion Monarchs and the Virginia Tech Hokies have scheduled a 3-game football series, The Virginian-Pilot has reported.

    Old Dominion will travel to face Virginia Tech at Lane Stadium in Blacksburg on Sept. 24, 2016 and again on Sept. 7, 2019. On Sept. 8, 2018, the Hokies will visit Foreman Field at S.B. Ballard Stadium in Norfolk. Read Full Story »

    UTEP Miners to play at Texas A&M Aggies in 2013

    Kyle FieldThe UTEP Miners will play at the Texas A&M Aggies in 2013, UTEP Director of Athletics Bob Stull announced Friday night.

    UTEP will travel to face Texas A&M at Kyle Field in College Station on Nov. 2, 2013. The Miners are 0-2 against the Aggies, having lost 20-17 in 1984 and 45-17 in 2000.

    The game completes the 2013 non-conference football schedule for the Miners, which also includes matchups vs. New Mexico (Sept. 7), at New Mexico State (Sept. 14), and at Colorado State (Sept. 28). Read Full Story »

    Memphis Tigers announce Future Non-Conference Football Opponents

    Memphis TigersThe Memphis Tigers have announced their future non-conference football opponents, which features a new home-and-home series vs. UCLA.

    Memphis will travel to face UCLA at the Rose Bowl in Los Angeles on Sept. 6, 2014. The Bruins will return the game by playing at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium on Sept. 16, 2017. The 2014 game will be the first ever meeting between the two schools. Read Full Story »

    Southern Miss Golden EaglesThe Southern Miss Golden Eagles have added the Texas State Bobcats to their 2013 football schedule, the Hattiesburg American has reported.

    Southern Miss moves 2013 Nebraska game to Lincoln, will get $2.1 million

    Nebraska-Southern MissSouthern Miss and Nebraska have been going back and forth over where to play their 2013 contest, which was originally slated for Hattiesburg on Sept. 7.

    First the game was rumored to be played at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, and then later Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City was mentioned.

    A third possibility was having the Cornhuskers host the game in Lincoln, according to Nebraska AD Tom Osborne. Read Full Story »

    Florida Atlantic, Middle Tennessee to join Conference USA

    C-USA 2014The Florida Atlantic Owls and the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders will join Conference USA in 2014, multiple sources have reported.

    Harry Minium broke the news this morning that Middle Tennessee was the first school to accept an offer to join Conference USA. Later in the day, ESPN confirmed the news and then reported that Florida Atlantic would also move to C-USA. The Sun-Sentinel has also confirmed FAU’s move. Read Full Story »

    Louisiana Tech to open 2013 football season at NC State

    NC StateThe Louisiana Tech Bulldogs will open the 2013 football season at the NC State Wolfpack, the Shreveport Times has reported.

    The game will be played at Carter-Finley Stadium in Raleigh, likely on Aug. 31. An exact date was not specified, but NC State athletic director Debbie Yow stated that they “…will be opening with Louisiana Tech, a Top 20 team.”

    North Carolina State and Louisiana Tech have never met on the football field. Read Full Story »
