The UAB Blazers have finalized their 2013 non-conference football schedule, the school announced on Friday.
UAB will open the 2013 season at in-state foe Troy on Aug. 31. The Blazers lost to the Trojans last month 39-29 and trail 6-4 in the overall series.
The following week (Sept. 7), UAB heads to Baton Rouge to take on the LSU Tigers. Read Full Story »
Maryland and North Carolina have each added the Old Dominion Monarchs to their 2013 football schedules, ODU has confirmed in separate releases.
Old Dominion will travel to face the Maryland Terrapins on Sept. 7, 2013 and North Carolina Tar Heels on Oct 12, 2013.
The Monarchs have never played a team that was in the Football Bowl Subdivision at the time of the contest. In the past, ODU has faced East Carolina, Miami (FL), and UMass, but all three schools were in a lower division at the time. Read Full Story »
The Charlotte 49ers and the Temple Owls have scheduled a 2015-16 home-and-home football series, Charlotte has announced.
Charlotte will host the first game of the series at McColl-Richardson Field on Oct. 3, 2015. The 49ers will then travel to face the Owls at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia on Sept. 24, 2016.

East Carolina and Virginia Tech have extended their football series through the 2020 season, both schools announced today.
The Pirates and Hokies will renew their series on Sept. 14, 2013 at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium in Greenville. Games in 2015, 2017, and 2019 will also be played in Greenville, while the 2014, 2016, 2018, and 2020 meetings will be played at Lane Stadium in Blacksburg. Read Full Story »
The Western Kentucky Hilltoppers have scheduled a 2017 and 2018 home-and-home football series against the Marshall Thundering Herd, WKU athletic director Todd Stewart announced on Monday.
Western Kentucky will host Marshall in the first game of the series at Houchens Industries – L.T. Smith Stadium in Bowling Green in 2017. In the second and final game of the series in 2018, Marshall will host the WKU at Joan C. Edwards Stadium in Huntington. Read Full Story »
The Maryland Terrapins have added games against Rutgers, UCF, and two FCS teams to their future football schedules, according to UM AD Kevin Anderson.
Rutgers will visit Byrd Stadium in College Park in 2014, while UCF will visit in 2016. Maryland will also host FCS teams James Madison and Howard in 2014 and 2016, respectively. Read Full Story »
The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs will host the Army Black Knights in the inaugural 2013 Heart of Dallas Classic at the Cotton Bowl, the school announced today.
The game, which was initially slated for Sept. 28, 2013 in Ruston, will be played on the same date and Louisiana Tech will remain the home team.

The Old Dominion Monarchs will play a Conference USA football schedule beginning in 2014, ODU athletic director Wood Selig said on Thursday.
Old Dominion announced in May that they are joining Conference USA in football in 2015, while all other sports will join for the 2013-14 season. According to The Virginian-Pilot, C-USA athletic directors agreed earlier this week to include Old Dominion in the 2014 football schedule.

Texas Tech will host Texas State in 2013 and will face UTEP in a home-and-home series in 2014 and 2015, Tech athletic director Kirby Hocutt told the Avalanche Journal.
No specific dates for the three games were mentioned. A representative of Texas Tech told us that currently there are “no dates yet for release.”

The Tulsa Golden Hurricane have updated their future non-conference football schedules, Director of Athletics Ross Parmley announced on Thursday.
The biggest addition is a game at Ohio State in 2016. A date for that game is to be determined, but will likely be either Sept. 10 or Sept. 24. Read Full Story »
The Ohio State Buckeyes have added the Tulsa Golden Hurricane to their 2016 football schedule, Tulsa World has reported.
Ohio State will host Tulsa at Ohio Stadium in Columbus, likely on either Sept. 10 or Sept. 24, 2016. Those are the only two open dates on Ohio State’s schedule, with Oct. 8 being reserved as a bye week.

The UCF Knights have been issued a one-year postseason ban for major recruiting violations uncovered in football and basketball last year.
Central Florida was also cited for lack of institutional control, fined $50,000 and placed on 5-years probation, among other penalties.
UCF President John Hitt said the school planned to accept all of the penalties, but after talking with head coach George O’Leary, the Knights will likely appeal the postseason ban in football. Read Full Story »
Memphis and Ole Miss have officially announced that they will renew their rivalry with a four-game, home-and-home football series beginning in 2014.
Memphis will travel to face Ole Miss at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in Oxford on Sept. 27, 2014 and Sept. 10, 2016. The Tigers will host the Rebels at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium on Oct. 17, 2015 and Sept. 30, 2017. Read Full Story »
Memphis and Ole Miss will play a four-game, home-and-home football series beginning in 2014, the Commercial Appeal has reported.
The two schools previously had a verbal agreement to play home-and-home in 2016 and 2017. This new agreement, according to Memphis athletic director Tom Bowen, will begin in 2014.
