The UCF Knights and the Penn State Nittany Lions have scheduled a 2013-14 home-and-home football series, the Orlando Sentinel has reported.

The Florida Atlantic Owls and the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders will join Conference USA in 2013 rather than 2014, Sun Belt commissioner Karl Benson confirmed Friday evening.

Most teams have their 2013 non-conference football schedules set, but there are eight teams that still need one game: Duke, Syracuse, Wake Forest, Marshall, Tulane, BYU, Missouri, and Texas State.

Tech opens the 2013 season at the NC State Wolfpack of the ACC on Aug. 31. The two schools have never met on the football field.

The Charlotte 49ers have announced that they have added the Kansas State Wildcats to their 2016 football schedule.
Charlotte will travel to face Kansas State at Bill Snyder Family Football Stadium in Manhattan on Sept. 10, 2016. The game will be the first ever meeting between the two schools.

The Houston Cougars and the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs have mutually agreed to cancel their 2013 and 2014 football games, UH assistant athletics director David Bassity confirmed to FBSchedules.com.
Houston was scheduled to host Louisiana Tech on Sept. 7, 2013 and travel to face the Bulldogs on Sept. 13, 2014.

The UTEP Miners will play at the Texas A&M Aggies in 2013, UTEP Director of Athletics Bob Stull announced Friday night.
UTEP will travel to face Texas A&M at Kyle Field in College Station on Nov. 2, 2013. The Miners are 0-2 against the Aggies, having lost 20-17 in 1984 and 45-17 in 2000.

Southern Miss and Nebraska have been going back and forth over where to play their 2013 contest, which was originally slated for Hattiesburg on Sept. 7.
First the game was rumored to be played at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, and then later Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City was mentioned.

Harry Minium broke the news this morning that Middle Tennessee was the first school to accept an offer to join Conference USA. The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs will open the 2013 football season at the NC State Wolfpack, the Shreveport Times has reported.
The game will be played at Carter-Finley Stadium in Raleigh, likely on Aug. 31. An exact date was not specified, but NC State athletic director Debbie Yow stated that they “…will be opening with Louisiana Tech, a Top 20 team.”

The East Carolina Pirates and the Tulane Green Wave will join the Big East Conference in 2014, it was announced today.
East Carolina will join the Big East in football only. The Pirates, members of Conference USA since 1997, announced their decision at a news conference this evening.
