    UTEP MinersThe UTEP Miners have announced their 2012 football schedule, which features games against Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Wisconsin, Houston, SMU and Southern Miss.

    UTEP opens the 2012 season at home against the Oklahoma Sooners on Sept. 1. Other non-conference games for the Miners include at Ole Miss (Sept. 8), vs. New Mexico State (Sept. 15) and at Wisconsin (Sept. 22).

    C-USA, MWC to dissolve and form new Conference

    MWC-C-USAConference USA and the Mountain West Conference plan to dissolve and form a new conference, the MWC announced today.

    Last October, the two conferences announced that they were combining into one football association. But for legal reasons, both conferences will dissolve and form “…a new intercollegiate athletic association that would begin competition in the 2013-14 academic year.” Read Full Story »

    Oklahoma may open 2012 football season at UTEP

    Report: Memphis Tigers to join Big East in 2013

    Memphis TigersThe Memphis Tigers are likely to join the Big East Conference in 2013, CBSSports.com’s Brett McMurphy has reported.

    Memphis would join the Big East in all sports. The Tigers have been a member of Conference USA since 1996.

    Memphis discussing series with Vanderbilt, has verbals with Kansas & Ole Miss

    Memphis TigersThe Memphis Tigers are in discussions to play a future football series against the Vanderbilt Commodores, The Commercial Appeal has reported. Memphis also has verbal agreements to play Kansas and Ole Miss.

    Memphis Athletics Director R.C. Johnson said that the Tigers could play Vanderbilt as early as 2013 if one of their currently scheduled non-conference opponents cancels. Those opponents are Arkansas State, Duke, Louisville and Middle Tennessee. Read Full Story »

    Southern Miss releases 2014-15 Home-and-home Football dates against BYU

    Southern MissBYUThe Southern Miss Golden Eagles have released their 2014-15 home-and-home series dates against BYU on their official website.

    BYU will host Southern Miss at LaVell Edwards Stadium in Provo on Nov. 8, 2014. On Oct. 17, 2015, the Cougars will travel to face the Golden Eagles at M.M. Roberts Stadium in Hattiesburg. Read Full Story »
