    San Diego State, California schedule 2015-16 Home-and-home Football Series

    San Diego StateThe San Diego State Aztecs and the California Golden Bears have scheduled a home-and-home football series for 2015 and 2016, SDSU Athletic Director Jim Sterk confirmed to the North County Times.

    San Diego State will travel to face Cal at California Memorial Stadium in Berkley in 2015. The Aztecs will then host the Golden Bears at Qualcomm Stadium in 2016. Exact dates were not announced.

    SDSU and Cal have met six times and the series is even at three games apiece. The two schools haven’t played since 1996. Read Full Story »

    Ohio State, Oregon schedule 2020-21 Home-and-home Football Series

    Ohio State-OregonThe Ohio State Buckeyes and the Oregon Ducks have scheduled a 2020-21 home-and-home football series, both schools announced this afternoon.

    Oregon will host the first game of the series at Autzen Stadium in Eugene on Sept. 12, 2020. The second and final game will be played at Ohio Stadium in Columbus on Sept. 11, 2021.

    “Oregon has developed into one of the premier football programs in the FBS,” Gene Smith, Ohio State Associate Vice President and Director of Athletics, said. “We are excited to add them to our future slate of games.” Read Full Story »

    Game of the Week – Stanford at Notre Dame

    Stanford-Notre DameThe nation’s eyes will once again be treated to images of Touchdown Jesus and fighting leprechauns as #17 Stanford comes to South Bend to tangle with the #7 Fighting Irish. Stanford won a shootout last week with Arizona 54-48, while Notre Dame drubbed the Hurricanes 41-3 in Chicago last Saturday. The last three match ups in this rivalry resulted in wins for Stanford, but Notre Dame is firing on all cylinders and ready to out muscle the Cardinal and keep their national championship hopes alive. This series has been dominated as of late with Stanford pushing around Notre Dame in the trenches. The Fighting Irish have put together a string of stingy defensive performances with only giving up six or less in the past three games.     Georgia State to visit Alabama in 2013, Oregon in 2015

    Georgia State PanthersGeorgia State has added two more games to their future football schedules, the school announced this afternoon. The Panthers will travel to Alabama in 2013 and Oregon in 2015.

    Alabama will welcome Georgia State to Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa on Oct. 5, 2013. The Crimson Tide will pay the Panthers a $700,000 guarantee.

    The game will be the second meeting between the two schools. GSU played at Alabama in their inaugural season back in 2010 and fell to the Tide 63-7. Read Full Story »

    BCS Conferences announce Oct. 13, 2012 TV Schedule

    Geno SmithThe six BCS conferences have each announced their football TV schedule for the weekend of October 13, 2012.

    Top match-ups include Alabama at Missouri, Oklahoma vs. Texas (at Dallas, TX), South Carolina at LSU, West Virginia at Texas Tech, USC at Washington, TCU at Baylor, and Texas A&M vs. Louisiana Tech (at Shreveport, LA).

    USC to open 2014 season vs. Fresno State

    Los Angeles ColiseumThe USC Trojans will open the 2014 season against the Fresno State Bulldogs, both schools announced on Monday.

    USC will host Fresno State at Los Angeles Coliseum on Aug. 30, 2014. This will be the third meeting between the two schools, although USC vacated their 2005 win against the Bulldogs due to NCAA sanctions. Fresno State won the only other contest 24-7 in the 1992 Freedom Bowl.

    Wyoming, Washington State schedule 2015 & 2018 Home-and-home Football Series

    Wyoming CowboysWyoming and Washington State have scheduled a home-and-home football series for 2015 and 2018, both schools have announced.

    Washington State will host the first game of the series at Martin Stadium in Pullman on Sept. 12, 2015. The final game will be played on Sept. 1, 2018 at War Memorial Stadium in Laramie.

    “The Wyoming series falls in line with my goal to add quality nonconference opponents for our football program,” said WSU Director of Athletics Bill Moos. Read Full Story »

    Oregon Ducks complete 2013 Non-Conference Football Schedule

    Oregon DucksThe Oregon Ducks have completed their 2013 non-conference football schedule with the addition of Nicholls State, The Register Guard has reported.

    Nicholls State will visit Autzen Stadium for both schools’ season opener on Aug. 31, 2013. UO and NSU have never met in football.

    Nicholls State postpones opener at Oregon State due to Hurricane Isaac

    Reser StadiumNicholls State has postponed their 2012 season-opener at Oregon State due to damage caused by Hurricane Isaac.

    The game was set for Saturday, Sept. 1 and was to be televised by the Pac-12 Network at 12 p.m. PT. A makeup date for the game has not been announced.

    Officials from Nicholls State said the game could be played on Dec. 1 if the Colonels do not reach the FCS playoffs and the Beavers don’t play in the Pac-12 Championship Game. Read Full Story »

    Washington adds Montana to 2017 Football Schedule

    Washington HuskiesThe Washington Huskies have added the Montana Grizzlies to their 2017 football schedule, UW announced on Friday.

    Washington will host Montana at Husky Stadium on September 2, 2017. It will mark the 18th time that the Grizzlies have traveled to Seattle.

    The Huskies lead the overall series 16-1-1, but the two schools haven’t met since 1951. Read Full Story »

    Illinois to play Washington at Soldier Field in 2013

    Soldier FieldThe Illinois Fighting Illini will face the Washington Huskies at Soldier Field in Chicago, has reported. Illinois sports information director Kent Brown confirmed the game.

    The match-up, which is set for Sept. 14, 2013, was originally scheduled to be played at Memorial Stadium in Champaign. Washington leads the overall series 5-4, but the two schools haven’t met since 1972. Read Full Story »

    Oregon adds Eastern Washington to 2015 Football Schedule

    Oregon will host EWUThe Oregon Ducks have added the Eastern Washington Eagles to their 2015 football schedule, EWU has announced.

    Oregon will host Eastern Washington at Autzen Stadium in Eugene on September 5, 2015. The game will be the first ever meeting between the two schools.

    Georgia was previously set to travel to Oregon on Sept. 5, 2015, but the two schools agreed to cancel their 2015-16 series back in September 2010. Read Full Story »

    Big Ten, Pac-12 Suspend Future Scheduling Agreement

    Big Ten and Pac-12The Big Ten Conference announced today that the Big Ten and Pac-12 have suspended their future scheduling agreement for football and all other sports.

    Big Ten Commissioner Jim Delany said that the Pac-12’s nine-game conference schedule and “previous non-conference commitments” made the task of matching up 24 teams across two conferences “too difficult.”

    Although the agreement would have created some compelling match-ups, it would also have made schedules for some of the Pac-12 teams much tougher. Read Full Story »

    Arizona, Hawaii announce 2019-20 Home-and-home Football Series

    Arizona StadiumThe Arizona Wildcats and the Hawaii Warriors will play a home-and-home football series in 2019 and 2020, both schools announced this afternoon.

    Arizona will travel to face Hawaii at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu on Aug. 31, 2019. The Wildcats will then host the Warriors at Arizona Stadium in Tucson on Sept. 5, 2020 to complete the two-game series. Read Full Story »
