The Houston Cougars and the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs have mutually agreed to cancel their 2013 and 2014 football games, UH assistant athletics director David Bassity confirmed to FBSchedules.com.
Houston was scheduled to host Louisiana Tech on Sept. 7, 2013 and travel to face the Bulldogs on Sept. 13, 2014.
The Cougars further confirmed the cancellation today when they announced that their four non-conference opponents in 2013 are BYU, Rice, Southern, and UTSA. Read Full Story »
The Big East has set the home and away football schedules for the 2013 season, conference commissioner Mike Aresco announced today.
The 2013 season will be the first for the conference with a two division format. Cincinnati, Connecticut, Louisville, Rutgers, UCF, and USF make up the East Division, while Boise State, Houston, Memphis, San Diego State, SMU, and Temple make up the West Division. Read Full Story »

The Old Dominion Monarchs and the Virginia Tech Hokies have scheduled a 3-game football series, The Virginian-Pilot has reported.
Old Dominion will travel to face Virginia Tech at Lane Stadium in Blacksburg on Sept. 24, 2016 and again on Sept. 7, 2019. On Sept. 8, 2018, the Hokies will visit Foreman Field at S.B. Ballard Stadium in Norfolk. Read Full Story »
The Colorado State Rams will play at the Alabama Crimson Tide in 2013, CSU athletic director Jack Graham announced last night at a CSU Ram Club event.
Colorado State will face Alabama at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa on Sept. 21, 2013. The game will be the first ever meeting between the two schools and will pit Bama coach Nick Saban against his former offensive coordinator Jim McElwain, now the head coach of the Rams. Read Full Story »
The UTEP Miners will play at the Texas A&M Aggies in 2013, UTEP Director of Athletics Bob Stull announced Friday night.
UTEP will travel to face Texas A&M at Kyle Field in College Station on Nov. 2, 2013. The Miners are 0-2 against the Aggies, having lost 20-17 in 1984 and 45-17 in 2000.
The game completes the 2013 non-conference football schedule for the Miners, which also includes matchups vs. New Mexico (Sept. 7), at New Mexico State (Sept. 14), and at Colorado State (Sept. 28). Read Full Story »
The Penn State Nittany Lions and the Pittsburgh Panthers, scheduled to meet in 2016 and 2017, have added two additional games to the series.
Pitt will host Penn State at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh on September 8, 2018 and will then travel to face the Nittany Lions at Beaver Stadium on September 14, 2019.

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets have added the Alabama A&M Bulldogs to their 2013 football schedule, the school announced today.
Georgia Tech will host Alabama A&M at Bobby Dodd Stadium in Atlanta on Nov. 23, 2013. It will be the first ever meeting between the two schools.

The Miami Hurricanes are “finalizing” a 2013 game against the Savannah State Tigers, the Miami Herald has reported.
Miami will host Savannah State at Sun Life Stadium in Miami Gardens on a date to be announced. It will be the first ever meeting between the two schools.

Well fans, we have reached the end of the 2012 college football regular season. This year has had a variety of teams occupying the top spot in college football and Notre Dame ended up #1 when the music stopped. The Irish will take on the SEC Champion Alabama Crimson Tide in the BCS National Championship Game that is sure to be one of the most watched in history. While Alabama has one loss, other one loss teams like Kansas State, Florida and Oregon will play in lower tier BCS bowl games. If there was any year for a playoff system in college football, this would be the one. Let’s do a hypothetical final four projection and see if we end up with the same BCS Championship game. We should have known. We truly should have known.
Just when we all thought the SEC’s streak of playing for national titles would end, Kansas State lost. Then Oregon lost. We will not get an all-SEC title game this year, but the winner of this year’s conference championship game gets the honor of facing Notre Dame in the BCS Championship. Alabama is fighting for a return trip to play for the title, while a Georgia win would allow them to play for their first title since 1980.
