    Virginia, Stanford schedule 2017-18 Home-and-home Football Series

    Scott StadiumThe Virginia Cavaliers have scheduled a 2017-18 home-and-home football series with the Stanford Cardinal, Virginia’s official website indicates.

    Virginia will host the series opener at Scott Stadium in Charlottesville on Sept. 9, 2017 while the final game will be played at Stanford Stadium on Sept. 8, 2018. The 2017 game will be the first ever meeting between these two schools. Read Full Story »

    Bowling Green adds Louisiana Tech, Texas State to Future Football Schedules

    Bowling Green (2010)The Bowling Green Falcons have added future home-and-home football series against Louisiana Tech and Texas State. The Falcons have also made several other additions and changes to their future schedules which have been posted to their official website.

    Bowling Green and Louisiana Tech will begin their two-game series at Joe Aillet Stadium in Ruston, LA on Sept. 22, 2018. The Falcons will then host the Bulldogs at Doyt Perry Stadium in Bowling Green, OH on Sept. 14, 2019. Read Full Story »

    Northwestern adds games vs. Eastern Illinois & Western Michigan, drops Army

    NorthwesternThe Northwestern Wildcats have added future non-conference football games against Western Michigan and Eastern Illinois and dropped a game against Army, the school announced this week.

    Northwestern will host Eastern Illinois at Ryan Field in Evanston, IL on Sept. 12, 2015. The game completed their 2015 football schedule, which was officially announced on Tuesday.

    Northwestern was scheduled to host Army in 2015, but that game was replaced by the contest against Eastern Illinois. Read Full Story »

    Big East AD’s vote to host football championship game on campus

    Big EastThe Big East athletic directors voted unanimously yesterday to host the conference Football Championship Game on campus.

    The conference hopes to begin staging a championship game in 2013 after Boise State, Houston, Memphis, San Diego State, SMU and UCF join.

    The team with the best record in conference play will host the championship game at it’s stadium. Currently, Conference USA and the Pac-12 also use this format. Read Full Story »

    Land Grant Rivalry set to resume in 2015-16

    Michigan State vs. Penn State (2010)With the release of the 2015-16 Big Ten football schedule yesterday, the Land Grant rivalry between Michigan State and Penn State is set to resume.

    Michigan State will host Penn State at Spartan Stadium in East Lansing on Nov. 14, 2015. The Spartans will then travel to face the Nittany Lions at Beaver Stadium in University Park on Nov. 12, 2016. Read Full Story »

    Big Ten announces 2015 & 2016 Conference Football Schedule

    Big TenThe Big Ten has announced their 2015 and 2016 conference football schedules. The Big Ten Championship Games will be played on December 5, 2015 and December 3, 2016.

    Big Ten teams will continue to play an 8-game conference schedule after agreeing to a long-term scheduling agreement with the Pac-12. The B1G was previously slated to begin playing >nine conference games in 2017. Read Full Story »

    SEC, Big 12 Champions to meet in New Year’s Day Bowl Game

    Big-12, SEC create bowl gameThe SEC and the Big 12 have announced a partnership that will pit their conference champions against each other in a New Year’s Day bowl game.

    The agreement between the two conferences is for five years and begins following the 2014 football season (Jan. 1, 2015). The host site, TV partner and name of the bowl game will be announced at a later date. For now, the game has the working title “Champions Bowl.” Read Full Story »

    Alabama to face West Virginia in 2014 Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game

    Chick-fil-A Kickoff GameThe Alabama Crimson Tide will face the West Virginia Mountaineers in the second game of the 2014 Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game, Chick-fil-A officials announced this afternoon.

    Alabama and West Virginia will meet at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta on Saturday, Aug. 28, 2014. The game will be the first ever meeting between the two schools.

    Old Dominion Monarchs to join Conference USA in 2015

    Old Dominion joins C-USAThe Old Dominion Monarchs have accepted an invitation to join Conference USA, the school announced this afternoon.

    Old Dominion is the sixth program this year to announce a move to Conference USA. They join Charlotte, Florida International, Louisiana Tech, North Texas and UTSA, who each announced their decisions earlier this month.

    ODU will join C-USA in football in 2015 while all other sports will join for the 2013-14 season. Read Full Story »

    Alabama likely to face West Virginia in 2014 Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game

    Nick SabanSpeaking at a Crimson Caravan event, Alabama head coach Nick Saban said the Crimson Tide will face West Virginia to open the 2014 season in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game.

    Two BYU football games moved for national television

    San Jose State at BYU (2011)Two BYU football games have been moved to accommodate national television broadcasts, Mike Humes of ESPN announced today.

    BYU’s season opener against Washington State has been moved to Thursday, Aug. 30 and will be televised by ESPN at 10:15 p.m. ET. The game was initially set for Saturday, Sept. 1.

    What would a Florida State Big 12 Football Schedule look like?

    Florida State-OklahomaThere’s been a lot of talk the past few days about Florida State possibly being interested in leaving the ACC for the Big 12.

    Last week, Chip Brown wrote that the Seminoles should consider a move to the Big 12 for financial reasons. Saturday FSU Board of Trustees Chairman Andy Haggard openly blasted the new ACC television deal and said “…we would be in favor of seeing what the Big 12 might have to offer.     Florida State Future Football Schedules nearly complete through 2015

    Florida StateFlorida State’s future football schedules are nearly complete through the 2015 season after the Orlando Sentinel obtained information on a few new games this afternoon.

    The Seminoles will open the 2013 season at Doak Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee against the Wofford Terriers. FSU is 3-0 all-time against Wofford, but the two schools haven’t met since 1952. Read Full Story »

    Appalachian State in talks to join Conference USA

    Appalachian StateThe Appalachian State Mountaineers are in talks to join Conference USA, ASU Director of Athletics Charlie Cobb has confirmed.

    Appalachian State has been a member of the Southern Conference in the Football Championship Subdivision since 1971. There they have won three national championships (2005-07) and won or shared the Southern Conference championship 11 times. Read Full Story »
