    Michigan StateOregonThe Oregon Ducks and Michigan State Spartans have scheduled a home-and-home football series for 2014 and 2015, The Register Guard has reported.

  • SEC hopes to have Future Football Schedule set by late-May

    SECSEC commissioner Mike Slive hopes to have the future football schedule for the conference set by late-May, he told the Memphis Commercial-Appeal.

    Slive and the 14 SEC athletic directors discussed the issue earlier this month in Nashville at the women’s basketball tournament and then the following week in New Orleans at the men’s tournament. Read Full Story »

  • Notre Dame sets kickoff times for 2012 Football Home Games

  • 2012 UTSA at South Alabama football game moved to Thursday

    UTSASouth AlabamaThe 2012 UTSA at South Alabama football game has been moved to Thursday, August 30, USA announced today. The game, which was originally planned for Saturday, Sept. 1., will be played at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, AL.

    Not only will this be the first game of the season for both schools, it will also be their first game at the FBS level. South Alabama beat the Roadrunners 30-27 in double-overtime last season in the first game of their home-and-home series. Read Full Story »

  • Northwestern & Stanford schedule 2015-16 Home-and-home Football Series

    StanfordNorthwesternThe Northwestern Wildcats and the Stanford Cardinal have scheduled a 2015-16 home-and-home football series, Northwestern announced today.

  • LSU, Tulane could meet at Superdome in 2013

    TulaneLSUThe LSU Tigers and the Tulane Green Wave are in discussions for a possible game at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in 2013, The Times Picayune has reported.

    The game could be the season opener for both schools, although details are still being worked out. The two schools, separated by only about 80 miles, haven’t met since a 42-0 LSU win in 2009. The Tigers lead the overall series 69-22-7. Read Full Story »

  • BYU to schedule Wisconsin? “Good chance” says BYU’s Bronco Mendenhall

    BYU CougarsSpeaking to reporters after their third spring football practice, BYU head coach Bronco Mendenhall told reporters there is a “good chance” that the Cougars could schedule Wisconsin.

    Last year rumors were rampant that BYU was in talks with several big name schools for future home-and-home and two-for-one games. Only one of those rumors has panned out so far, resulting in a single game at Nebraska in 2015. Read Full Story »

  • Pittsburgh Panthers finalize 2012 Non-conference Football Schedule

    Pittsburgh PanthersThe Pittsburgh Panthers finalized their 2012 non-conference football schedule today with the addition of a home game against Gardner-Webb.

    Pittsburgh opens the 2012 season at home on Sept. 1 against the Youngstown State Penguins. Other non-conference games at Heinz Field include Virginia Tech on Sept. 15 and Gardner-Webb on Sept. 22. The Panthers will travel to face Buffalo on Oct. 6 and Notre Dame on Nov. 3. Read Full Story »

  • Temple Owls to join Big East Conference in 2012

    Big EastThe Big East has officially announced the addition of the Temple Owls to the conference. Temple will join for football in 2012 and all sports in 2013.

    Temple was formerly a member of the Big East in football from 1991 through 2004. The Owls were dismissed from the league and played as an Independent for two years before joining the MAC. Read Full Story »

  • Arkansas-Missouri, South Carolina-Texas A&M to become permanent SEC Rivals?

    SECAlthough the SEC hasn’t made an official announcement, it appears that Arkansas-Missouri and South Carolina-Texas A&M will become permanent cross-division rivals in football.

    South Carolina president Harris Pastides told ABC Columbia that Texas A&M is their “likely” option for a permanent cross-division rival.

    WACThe 2012 WAC football schedules were announced today. Conference play begins on Saturday, Sept. 29 when UTSA travels to face New Mexico State.

  • Hawaii may add 13th game to 2012 Football Schedule

    Hawaii WarriorsLast week, the Hawaii Warriors announced their 2012 football schedule. But UH athletic director Jim Donovan says they may add a 13th game to their slate.

    Hawaii, which opens the season at USC on Sept. 1, has six home games and six road games. They have two open dates, Sept. 8 and Oct. 20. Read Full Story »

  • 2013 Nebraska-Southern Miss game could move to Superdome in New Orleans

    NebraskaSouthern MissNebraska and Southern Miss begin a three-game series in 2012 in Lincoln. The 2013 game is scheduled for Hattiesburg, but could be moved to the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, the Hattiesburg American has reported.

    Southern Miss interim athletic director Jeff Hammond said that moving the game to New Orleans could give the Golden Eagles a payday between “$1.2 and $1.5 million after expenses.” Read Full Story »
