    San Diego State adds future games vs. California, NMSU and San Jose State

    San Diego StateThe San Diego State Aztecs have added future football games against California, New Mexico State, and San Jose State, the school announced today.

    Agreements with California and New Mexico State call for home-and-home series, while SDSU and San Jose State will play a total of three games.

    San Diego State will travel to face Cal at California Memorial Stadium in Berkley on Sept. 12, 2015. The Aztecs will then host the Golden Bears at Qualcomm Stadium on Sept. 10, 2016. Read Full Story »

    Nebraska, Oklahoma schedule 2021-22 Home-and-home Football Series

    Nebraska-OklahomaNebraska and Oklahoma have scheduled a 2021-22 home-and-home football series, both schools announced this afternoon.

    Oklahoma will host the first game of the series at Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium in Norman on Sept. 18, 2021. Nebraska will host the second game at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln on Sept. 17, 2022.

    “Our rivalry with Oklahoma has been one of the great traditional matchups in the history of college football,” Nebraska Athletic Director Tom Osborne said. Read Full Story »

    Southern Miss moves 2013 Nebraska game to Lincoln, will get $2.1 million

    Nebraska-Southern MissSouthern Miss and Nebraska have been going back and forth over where to play their 2013 contest, which was originally slated for Hattiesburg on Sept. 7.

    First the game was rumored to be played at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, and then later Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City was mentioned.

    A third possibility was having the Cornhuskers host the game in Lincoln, according to Nebraska AD Tom Osborne. Read Full Story »

    2012 College Football TV Schedule – Week 14

    FBSchedules.comWeek 14 of the 2012 college football season kicks off tonight with Louisville traveling to Rutgers (7:30 p.m. ET, ESPN). The winner of the game claims the Big East title and a spot in a BCS Bowl game.

    Conference championship games begin on Friday. Kent State faces Northern Illinois for the MAC title (7 p.m. ET, ESPN2), while Stanford hosts UCLA in the Pac-12 (8 p.m. ET, FOX). Read Full Story »

    Clear Your Schedule – 2012 ACC Championship Game

    Bank of America StadiumOne of the wildest ACC football seasons in recent memory draws to a close on Saturday in Charlotte. Clemson lost their first ACC game to Florida State, then never lost again over the course of the ACC schedule. Maryland lost every scholarship quarterback to injury and finished the season with a linebacker playing quarterback. Maryland was not done making news, though, as they announced their intent to leave for the Big 10 in 2014.

    Florida Atlantic, Middle Tennessee to join Conference USA

    C-USA 2014The Florida Atlantic Owls and the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders will join Conference USA in 2014, multiple sources have reported.

    Harry Minium broke the news this morning that Middle Tennessee was the first school to accept an offer to join Conference USA. Later in the day, ESPN confirmed the news and then reported that Florida Atlantic would also move to C-USA. The Sun-Sentinel has also confirmed FAU’s move. Read Full Story »

    Louisiana Tech to open 2013 football season at NC State

    NC StateThe Louisiana Tech Bulldogs will open the 2013 football season at the NC State Wolfpack, the Shreveport Times has reported.

    The game will be played at Carter-Finley Stadium in Raleigh, likely on Aug. 31. An exact date was not specified, but NC State athletic director Debbie Yow stated that they “…will be opening with Louisiana Tech, a Top 20 team.”

    Louisville Cardinals to join ACC, likely in 2014

    Louisville CardinalsThe Louisville Cardinals will join the Atlantic Coast Conference, the ACC announced this morning. UL will likely join the ACC in 2014 when Maryland departs for the Big Ten.

    Louisville has been a member of the Big East Conference since 2005. Prior to that, the Cardinals were in Conference USA from 1996 through 2004. Read Full Story »

    East Carolina, Tulane to join Big East Conference in 2014

    Big EastThe East Carolina Pirates and the Tulane Green Wave will join the Big East Conference in 2014, it was announced today.

    East Carolina will join the Big East in football only. The Pirates, members of Conference USA since 1997, announced their decision at a news conference this evening.

    “ECU is excited to become a football member of the BIG EAST Conference,” ECU Chancellor Steve Ballard said. “We know we will be successful and add value to the BIG EAST. While hundreds of dedicated Pirates have contributed to this day, I especially want to recognize the relentless energy of Terry Holland and Nick Floyd in making this day a reality.     2013 Pac-12 Football Schedule Rotation

    Pac-12The 2013 Pac-12 football schedule rotation has been set, ESPN announced today.

    There are a couple of changes to the rotation from the original Pac-12 schedule grid that was released in 2010. Colorado will play Washington instead of Washington State, while Utah will play Washington State instead of Washington.

    If the prior Pac-12 scheduling pattern holds true, the 2013 opponents should simply switch sites for the 2014 season. Read Full Story »

    Monday’s Rewind and Look Forward (Nov. 26)

    Theo RiddickThe regular season is over and the SEC has shown once again why it is by far the best conference in college football. With Florida’s convincing victory over Florida State in Tallahassee, it put the Gators in the position to possibly play in the national championship if Notre Dame would’ve fell to USC. While the Irish played dream killer to the Gators BCS title hopes Saturday night, the SEC will have Georgia or Alabama playing Notre Dame for the whole enchilada on January 7th.

    Here’s the thing, they’re are several deserving teams that could be in Georgia or Alabama’s place. The farce about the way the BCS is set up is it’s not how you lose, it’s when you lose. Take Oregon for instance, they lost to Stanford late in the year.  Read Full Story »
