The Ole Miss Rebels will open the 2015 season at home against the UT Martin Skyhawks, according to UTM’s official website.

The 2012 WAC football schedules were announced today. Conference play begins on Saturday, Sept. 29 when UTSA travels to face New Mexico State.

Nebraska and Southern Miss begin a three-game series in 2012 in Lincoln. The 2013 game is scheduled for Hattiesburg, but could be moved to the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, the Hattiesburg American has reported.
Southern Miss interim athletic director Jeff Hammond said that moving the game to New Orleans could give the Golden Eagles a payday between “$1.2 and $1.5 million after expenses.” Read Full Story »
The 2012 Mountain West Conference (MWC) football schedules were released today. Conference play begins on Saturday, Sept. 22 with Air Force at UNLV and Nevada at Hawaii.
The 2012 season will be the first in the MWC for Fresno State, Hawaii and Nevada. Each school comes from the WAC. 2011 was the final season for the TCU Horned Frogs in the MWC after they announced they were joining the Big East and ultimately the Big 12. Read Full Story »
The Syracuse Orange have finalized their 2012 non-conference football schedule, the school announced this morning.
Syracuse opens the 2012 season at home on Sept. 1 against the Northwestern Wildcats of the Big Ten. Syracuse holds a 5-4 series lead over NU and have won five of the last six meetings.
The following week, Syracuse takes on the USC Trojans in New York’s College Classic at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ. Read Full Story »
The Missouri Tigers have announced their 2012 football schedule, which was completed today with the addition of a home game against the Syracuse Orange.
The 2012 season will be the first for Missouri in the Southeastern Conference. The Tigers, who were accepted into the SEC on Nov. 6, have competed in the Big 12 since its inception in 1996. Read Full Story »

College football is moving closer and closer to a playoff beginning with the 2014 season. President Barack Obama has been a big proponent of a college football playoff and recently sat down with Grantland.com’s Bill Simmons to talk about that issue, among others.

South Alabama joins the Sun Belt for the 2012 season, but will not be eligible for the conference title or a post-season bowl game until the 2013 season. On Wednesday, SEC athletic directors met in Nashville to discuss, among other things, future SEC football schedules. No decision was made on a scheduling model for 2013 and beyond.
