    2012 WAC Football Schedules Announced

    WACThe 2012 WAC football schedules were announced today. Conference play begins on Saturday, Sept. 29 when UTSA travels to face New Mexico State.

    For the 2012 season, the WAC welcomes new members Texas State and UTSA. Fresno State, Hawaii and Nevada are no longer members as they have joined the Mountain West Conference. Read Full Story »

    Hawaii may add 13th game to 2012 Football Schedule

    Hawaii WarriorsLast week, the Hawaii Warriors announced their 2012 football schedule. But UH athletic director Jim Donovan says they may add a 13th game to their slate.

    Hawaii, which opens the season at USC on Sept. 1, has six home games and six road games. They have two open dates, Sept. 8 and Oct. 20. Read Full Story »

    2013 Nebraska-Southern Miss game could move to Superdome in New Orleans

    NebraskaSouthern MissNebraska and Southern Miss begin a three-game series in 2012 in Lincoln. The 2013 game is scheduled for Hattiesburg, but could be moved to the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, the Hattiesburg American has reported.

    Southern Miss interim athletic director Jeff Hammond said that moving the game to New Orleans could give the Golden Eagles a payday between “$1.2 and $1.5 million after expenses.” Read Full Story »

    2012 Mountain West Football Schedules Announced

    MWCThe 2012 Mountain West Conference (MWC) football schedules were released today. Conference play begins on Saturday, Sept. 22 with Air Force at UNLV and Nevada at Hawaii.

    The 2012 season will be the first in the MWC for Fresno State, Hawaii and Nevada. Each school comes from the WAC. 2011 was the final season for the TCU Horned Frogs in the MWC after they announced they were joining the Big East and ultimately the Big 12. Read Full Story »

    Syracuse finalizes 2012 Non-conference Football Schedule

    Syracuse OrangeThe Syracuse Orange have finalized their 2012 non-conference football schedule, the school announced this morning.

    Syracuse opens the 2012 season at home on Sept. 1 against the Northwestern Wildcats of the Big Ten. Syracuse holds a 5-4 series lead over NU and have won five of the last six meetings.

    The following week, Syracuse takes on the USC Trojans in New York’s College Classic at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ. Read Full Story »

    Missouri Tigers announce 2012 Football Schedule

    Missouri TigersThe Missouri Tigers have announced their 2012 football schedule, which was completed today with the addition of a home game against the Syracuse Orange.

    The 2012 season will be the first for Missouri in the Southeastern Conference. The Tigers, who were accepted into the SEC on Nov. 6, have competed in the Big 12 since its inception in 1996. Read Full Story »

    President Obama supports a College Football Playoff

    College football is moving closer and closer to a playoff beginning with the 2014 season. President Barack Obama has been a big proponent of a college football playoff and recently sat down with Grantland.com’s Bill Simmons to talk about that issue, among others.

    2012 Sun Belt Football Schedules Announced

    2010 Sun Belt Conference Football SchedulesThe 2012 Sun Belt Conference football schedules were released today. Conference play begins on Sept. 8 when FAU hosts Middle Tennessee and UL Lafayette travels to Troy.

    South Alabama joins the Sun Belt for the 2012 season, but will not be eligible for the conference title or a post-season bowl game until the 2013 season. The Jaguars will play all Division I teams in 2012, including eight games against Sun Belt foes which will count in the conference standings. Read Full Story »

    No Decision Made on Future SEC Football Schedules

    SECOn Wednesday, SEC athletic directors met in Nashville to discuss, among other things, future SEC football schedules. No decision was made on a scheduling model for 2013 and beyond.

    2010 ACC Football SchedulesThe ACC has released their 2012 football schedules. Conference play begins on Saturday, Sept. 1 when Miami travels to face Boston College. And in a prime-time Labor Day match-up, Georgia Tech travels to face Virginia Tech (Mon., Sept. 3; 8 p.m. ET; ESPN).

    Two ACC schools will participate in the 2012 Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta. NC State will take on Tennessee on Friday, Aug. 31 while Clemson will battle Auburn on Saturday, Sept. 1. Read Full Story »
