    Northwestern & Stanford schedule 2015-16 Home-and-home Football Series

    LSU, Tulane could meet at Superdome in 2013

    TulaneLSUThe LSU Tigers and the Tulane Green Wave are in discussions for a possible game at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in 2013, The Times Picayune has reported.

    The game could be the season opener for both schools, although details are still being worked out. The two schools, separated by only about 80 miles, haven’t met since a 42-0 LSU win in 2009. The Tigers lead the overall series 69-22-7. Read Full Story »

    2012 NCAA Tournament Bracket & TV Schedule

    Normally, we just cover football and football schedules. But it is March, and it is the NCAA Basketball Tournament. Below is a link to a printable bracket and the TV schedule.

    The “First Four” begins on Tuesday with four contests: Mississippi Valley State vs. Western Kentucky, BYU vs. Iona, Lamar vs. Vermont and California vs. USF. March Madness 2nd round action kicks off on Thursday with 32 teams in action. Read Full Story »

    BYU to schedule Wisconsin? “Good chance” says BYU’s Bronco Mendenhall

    BYU CougarsSpeaking to reporters after their third spring football practice, BYU head coach Bronco Mendenhall told reporters there is a “good chance” that the Cougars could schedule Wisconsin.

    Last year rumors were rampant that BYU was in talks with several big name schools for future home-and-home and two-for-one games. Only one of those rumors has panned out so far, resulting in a single game at Nebraska in 2015. Read Full Story »

    Pittsburgh Panthers finalize 2012 Non-conference Football Schedule

    Pittsburgh PanthersThe Pittsburgh Panthers finalized their 2012 non-conference football schedule today with the addition of a home game against Gardner-Webb.

    Pittsburgh opens the 2012 season at home on Sept. 1 against the Youngstown State Penguins. Other non-conference games at Heinz Field include Virginia Tech on Sept. 15 and Gardner-Webb on Sept. 22. The Panthers will travel to face Buffalo on Oct. 6 and Notre Dame on Nov. 3. Read Full Story »

    Temple Owls to join Big East Conference in 2012

    Big EastThe Big East has officially announced the addition of the Temple Owls to the conference. Temple will join for football in 2012 and all sports in 2013.

    Temple was formerly a member of the Big East in football from 1991 through 2004. The Owls were dismissed from the league and played as an Independent for two years before joining the MAC. Read Full Story »

    Arkansas-Missouri, South Carolina-Texas A&M to become permanent SEC Rivals?

    SECAlthough the SEC hasn’t made an official announcement, it appears that Arkansas-Missouri and South Carolina-Texas A&M will become permanent cross-division rivals in football.

    South Carolina president Harris Pastides told ABC Columbia that Texas A&M is their “likely” option for a permanent cross-division rival.

    2012 WAC Football Schedules Announced

    WACThe 2012 WAC football schedules were announced today. Conference play begins on Saturday, Sept. 29 when UTSA travels to face New Mexico State.

    For the 2012 season, the WAC welcomes new members Texas State and UTSA. Fresno State, Hawaii and Nevada are no longer members as they have joined the Mountain West Conference. Read Full Story »

    Hawaii may add 13th game to 2012 Football Schedule

    Hawaii WarriorsLast week, the Hawaii Warriors announced their 2012 football schedule. But UH athletic director Jim Donovan says they may add a 13th game to their slate.

    Hawaii, which opens the season at USC on Sept. 1, has six home games and six road games. They have two open dates, Sept. 8 and Oct. 20. Read Full Story »

    2013 Nebraska-Southern Miss game could move to Superdome in New Orleans

    NebraskaSouthern MissNebraska and Southern Miss begin a three-game series in 2012 in Lincoln. The 2013 game is scheduled for Hattiesburg, but could be moved to the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, the Hattiesburg American has reported.

    Southern Miss interim athletic director Jeff Hammond said that moving the game to New Orleans could give the Golden Eagles a payday between “$1.2 and $1.5 million after expenses.” Read Full Story »

    2012 Mountain West Football Schedules Announced

    MWCThe 2012 Mountain West Conference (MWC) football schedules were released today. Conference play begins on Saturday, Sept. 22 with Air Force at UNLV and Nevada at Hawaii.

    The 2012 season will be the first in the MWC for Fresno State, Hawaii and Nevada. Each school comes from the WAC. 2011 was the final season for the TCU Horned Frogs in the MWC after they announced they were joining the Big East and ultimately the Big 12. Read Full Story »

    Syracuse finalizes 2012 Non-conference Football Schedule

    Syracuse OrangeThe Syracuse Orange have finalized their 2012 non-conference football schedule, the school announced this morning.

    Syracuse opens the 2012 season at home on Sept. 1 against the Northwestern Wildcats of the Big Ten. Syracuse holds a 5-4 series lead over NU and have won five of the last six meetings.

    The following week, Syracuse takes on the USC Trojans in New York’s College Classic at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ. Read Full Story »

    Missouri Tigers announce 2012 Football Schedule

    Missouri TigersThe Missouri Tigers have announced their 2012 football schedule, which was completed today with the addition of a home game against the Syracuse Orange.

    The 2012 season will be the first for Missouri in the Southeastern Conference. The Tigers, who were accepted into the SEC on Nov. 6, have competed in the Big 12 since its inception in 1996. Read Full Story »
