Ole Miss will host Georgia Tech at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in Oxford on September 9, 2017. The Rebels will travel to face the Yellow Jackets at Bobby Dodd Stadium in Atlanta on September 5, 2018.

The two schools were originally scheduled to play in Oxford in 2019 and in Atlanta in 2020.

Georgia Tech is 2-1 all-time against Ole Miss. Their last meeting was in the 1971 Peach Bowl in Atlanta, a 41-18 win for the Rebels.

Tech will travel to face Ole Miss on November 12, 2011, which is the date vacated by the move of Boise State to the Mountain West.

Louisiana Tech is 1-8 all-time against Ole Miss. In their last meeting in 2007, the Rebels won 24-0 in Oxford.

On September 22, 2o12, Louisiana Tech will travel to face the Illinois Fighting Illini. It will be the first meeting between the two schools.

This will be the first meeting between the two schools. Jacksonville State is a member of the Ohio Valley Conference in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS).

In recent years, Jacksonville State has faced Florida State, Georgia Tech, Kansas, Memphis and Mississippi State. They play Ole Miss this season and have future games scheduled against Auburn, Florida, Kentucky and Michigan State.

The Gamecocks are the second non-conference game for the LSU Tigers in 2015. Arizona State visits Tiger Stadium on September 12.

The Volunteers will host the Grizzlies at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville on September 3, 2011. Tennessee was supposed to host North Texas on that date, but the game has been postponed. From the Times Free Press:

UT men’s athletic director Mike Hamilton said the Volunteers had to replace North Texas because the Mean Green wanted to play their 2011 opener in their new stadium. Hamilton said the Vols will host North Texas “in a future year that we have had trouble filling,” but he didn’t give a specific date.

This will be the first ever meeting between the two schools. Montana is a member of the Big Sky Conference in the Football Championship Subdivision.

Other non-conference games for Tennessee in 2011 include Cincinnati (09/10), at North Carolina (09/24) and Middle Tennessee (11/05).

The conference delayed making the schedules official because they were attempting to change Alabama’s 2010 football schedule. In the end, only the Tide’s game against Georgia State was moved.

The 2010 SEC Championship Game will be played on Saturday, December 4 at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta (Buy Tickets).

South Carolina will travel to face UCF at Bright House Networks Stadium in Orlando on September 28, 2013. On September 26, 2015, the Gamecocks will host the Knights at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia.

South Carolina leads the overall series against UCF 3-0. The Gamecocks beat the Knights in 1996, 1997 and 2005, and all three games were played in Columbia.

In 2013, South Carolina hosts Clemson, North Carolina and The Citadel. In 2015, they host Clemson and travel to East Carolina.

UCF travels to Florida International in 2013 and has no other non-conference games scheduled in 2015.

Lane Kiffin, who left for USC after only one season as the head coach at Tennessee, lobbied hard for the game. But the Volunteers turned down the offer stating that they couldn’t make the game work with their schedule.

It’s no secret that there is some bad blood between the two schools. Kiffin’s hasty departure in January left the Vols without a head coach during prime recruiting season.

Tennessee’s 2011 football schedule is full, with non-conference games at home against North Texas (09/03), Cincinnati (09/10) and Middle Tennessee (11/05) and a road game at North Carolina (09/24). The North Texas game would have to be bought out (reports indicate $200,000) in order for Tennessee to play in the 2011 Kickoff game.

Moreover, a game against USC would make UT’s 2011 schedule possibly the nation’s toughest. In addition to the previously mentioned non-conference games, the Vols face a daunting SEC slate consisting of home games against Georgia, LSU, South Carolina and Vanderbilt and road games at Alabama, Arkansas, Florida and Kentucky.

For the Trojans, they would have had to move or buy out their September 3 game against Minnesota. But a chance to play in the 2011 Chick-fil-A College Kickoff would have provided Lane Kiffin and USC with a high-profile matchup. The Trojans were recently placed on probation and were hit with a two-year bowl ban and a loss of 30 scholarships over three years.

Tennessee and USC do have a verbal agreement for a home-and-home football series in 2021 and 2022. However, the contract has not been signed yet.

The contest was previously scheduled for Saturday, November 20. The game was moved to give the Crimson Tide two extra days of rest before their Iron Bowl matchup at home against Auburn on Friday, November 26.

The SEC was considering changing Alabama’s 2010 football schedule. The Crimson Tide face six straight SEC opponents that have an off week before facing the Tide. However, it appears that the conference has decided no further changes will be made.

Kentucky will host Jacksonville State at Commonwealth Stadium in Lexington on October 22, 2011. This will be the first meeting between the two schools.

The Gamecocks are a member of the Ohio Valley Conference in the Football Championship Subdivision.

Kentucky is also scheduled to play 2011 non-conference games against Louisville at home and Western Kentucky in Nashville, Tennessee.

The Gamecocks will host the Midshipmen at Williams-Brice Stadium on September 17, 2011. It will be the first meeting between the two schools since 1988.

South Carolina leads the overall series against Navy 4-3. In their last matchup in 1988, the Gamecocks won 19-8 in Columbia.

In 2011, South Carolina also has non-conference games scheduled against East Carolina (09/03/11 in Charlotte, NC), Clemson (11/26/11) and The Citadel (date TBA).

Texas had been contemplating a move to the Pac-10, with Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Texas Tech following whatever path the Longhorns chose. But Texas has decided to stay put in the Big 12 in light of a new television deal that could earn the Longhorns $20 to $25 million per year.

The Texas A&M Aggies were rumored to join the SEC if the Longhorns bolted to the Pac-10. Their decision to stay in the Big 12 will net them about $20 million per year in TV revenue, as will the Oklahoma Sooners.

There has been no word yet on whether the Big 12 will try to add two additional schools to bring their number back to 12. Without 12 schools, the conference cannot stage and profit from a championship game.

Meanwhile, the Utah Utes may now be sought after to join the Pac-10, which currently stands at 11 schools after the recent addition of Colorado. It is believed that the Pac-10 wants to get to 12 schools in order to hold their own conference championship game.

Chip Brown of OrangeBloods.com, a Texas Longhorn site on the Rivals.com network, has been all over this story. Today he is reporting that Big 12 commissioner Dan Beebe has constructed a TV deal that will keep the ten Big 12 schools together. Brown reports:

According to sources familiar with the deal, Texas stands to earn between $20 million and $25 million in television revenue, including money from its own network. The UT network figures to generate between $3 million and $5 million, according to sources.

According to sources, the deal will mean more money for Texas, Texas A&M and Oklahoma, who all stand to receive $20 million from the new deal. The other seven schools in the Big 12 would make between $14 million and $17 million, but would nearly double what they currently receive in TV revenue (roughly $7 million to $9 million).

How are they coming up with these figures all of a sudden? We don’t know, but Brown hints that answers will come later.

What we do know is that the Texas Longhorns are the key to all of these negotiations. They have the largest clout and their decision will affect what the other Big 12 schools decide.

On the other side of the story, ESPN is reporting that a move to the Pac-10 by Texas, Texas Tech, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State is “imminent.”

The ESPN article also states that the Texas A&M Aggies will join the SEC rather than follow their Texas counterparts to the Pac-10. Yesterday, the Houston Chronicle reported that the Aggies’ future “appears to be the SEC.”

If the Big 12 -2 can be held together, it might put a stop to the “musical chairs” of conference realignment. The Pac-10, who added Colorado last week, would likely lure Utah as their 12th school.

If Texas decides that greener pastures lie in the Pac-10, a massive change in the college football landscape will result.

Louisiana Tech will host UTSA in Ruston on September 26, 2015. The Bulldogs will travel to face the Roadrunners at the Alamodome in San Antonio on September 24, 2016. The 2015 game will be the first meeting between the two schools.

The Bulldogs will face the Arkansas Razorbacks on September 3, 2016 at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock. There is no return game.

Louisiana Tech is 0-3 all-time against Arkansas. In their last meeting in 1997, Arkansas won 17-13 in Little Rock.

Why would the SEC alter Alabama’s 2010 football schedule? Six of Alabama’s last seven opponents, all SEC teams, have an open date before playing the Crimson Tide.

Those six games are South Carolina (away), Ole Miss (home), Tennessee (away), LSU (away), Mississippi State (home) and Auburn (home). The Tide does have an open date between Tennessee and LSU. They also play Georgia State the week prior to Auburn.

TideSports.com spoke with Bama AD Mal Moore, who stated:

“I don’t know anything yet, but I am still hopeful,” Moore said. “The commissioner (Mike Slive) is still working on a couple of possibilities. It would have to be done relatively soon at this point, though.”

SEC Associate Commission Mark Womack acknowledged that negotiations were still ongoing with some teams, including non-conference teams, about altering their schedules to assist Alabama.

As a result of the discussions involving Alabama’s schedule, the 2010 SEC Football Schedules have not been officially released by the conference. They should be as soon as this situation is resolved.

When asked about the possibility of playing in the Chick-fil-A College Kickoff, head coach Nick Saban said Alabama has been presented “with five teams that we could play there or five teams we could play at Jerry Jones Stadium in Dallas. We’re viewing all the options.”

A 2012 matchup between the NC State Wolfpack and the Tennessee Volunteers has already been scheduled for the 2012 Chick-fil-A College Kickoff. Reports indicate that the Alabama-Miami game would be a second game that same weekend. Don Kausler, Jr. of The Birmingham News writes:

Tennessee and North Carolina State already are scheduled to play in one kickoff game at the Georgia Dome in the opening weekend of the 2012 sea­son. The proposed Miami game against Alabama or another Southeastern Con­ference team would be a second kickoff game that weekend.

“We could do Thursday-Saturday, Thursday-Mon­day or Saturday-Monday,” Stokan said. “That’s Labor Day weekend. Probably Thursday-Saturday would be best.”

In the same article, Gary Stokan, president of the Chick-fil-A Bowl, stated that Miami could be matched up against Au­burn, Georgia or South Carolina if Alabama declines.

Alabama and Miami last met in the 1993 Sugar Bowl in New Orleans. The Crimson Tide won that game 34-13. Alabama leads the overall series 14-3.

The Crimson Tide are also in discussions to play a game at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas in 2012. Various reports have Alabama facing Texas Tech, but a contract for that game has not been announced.

The Hurricanes were in the news last week when reports surfaced of a possible three-game series with Notre Dame. A 2012 game would be played at Soldier Field, followed by a home-and-home series in 2014 and 2016.
