    Colorado State, Alabama finalize agreement for game in 2013, second game in 2015 or 2017

    Jim McElwainThe Colorado State Rams will play at the Alabama Crimson Tide in 2013 and either the 2015 or 2017 season, CSU announced today.

    Colorado State will travel to face Alabama at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa on Sept. 21, 2013. The game will be the first ever meeting between the two schools and will pit Bama coach Nick Saban against his former offensive coordinator Jim McElwain, now the head coach of the Rams. Read Full Story »

    UTEP Miners to play at Texas A&M Aggies in 2013

    Kyle FieldThe UTEP Miners will play at the Texas A&M Aggies in 2013, UTEP Director of Athletics Bob Stull announced Friday night.

    UTEP will travel to face Texas A&M at Kyle Field in College Station on Nov. 2, 2013. The Miners are 0-2 against the Aggies, having lost 20-17 in 1984 and 45-17 in 2000.

    The game completes the 2013 non-conference football schedule for the Miners, which also includes matchups vs. New Mexico (Sept. 7), at New Mexico State (Sept. 14), and at Colorado State (Sept. 28). Read Full Story »

    Clear Your Schedule – 2012 SEC Championship Game

    Alabama-GeorgiaWe should have known. We truly should have known.

    Just when we all thought the SEC’s streak of playing for national titles would end, Kansas State lost. Then Oregon lost. We will not get an all-SEC title game this year, but the winner of this year’s conference championship game gets the honor of facing Notre Dame in the BCS Championship. Alabama is fighting for a return trip to play for the title, while a Georgia win would allow them to play for their first title since 1980.     Georgia-Georgia TechThe SEC emerges from a week against a lot of FCS competition to engage in rivalry games as the season approaches its end. The conference is again in the running to play for a national title after losses by #1 Kansas State and #2 Oregon last week.

    This week’s slate of games features two schools that have already fired their coaches playing each other, one more school who will be looking for a coach and another who might be looking for a coach. Two other teams are battling for bowl eligibility.     Clear Your Schedule – SEC, Week 11

    Johnny ManzielWe will dedicate some time to recapping the life and story of a true legend of the game. Hall of Famer Darrell Royal left us on Wednesday, and though he is probably best known for his time at Texas, the namesake of the Longhorns’ stadium actually started his career coaching in the SEC. Royal was 12-8 in two seasons (1954 and 1955) as Mississippi State’s head coach before heading off to Washington and eventually the job for which he is best known.

    Royal compiled a 17-3 record against former Southwestern Conference (and current SEC member) Texas A&M during his time in Austin, and though many consider the Red River Shootout the primary Texas rivalry, the Lone Star Showdown will forever hold great meaning to fans of both schools Read Full Story »

    Michigan to play Arkansas & BYU, completes 2015-16 Football Schedules

    The Michigan Wolverines have added games against Arkansas, BYU, Hawaii, Miami (OH), and Ball State to their future football schedules, the school announced today.

    Michigan will play the Arkansas Razorbacks in a home-and-home series beginning in 2018 at Michigan Stadium (Sept. 1) and culminating in 2019 at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium (Aug. 31). Both games will be season openers.

    The Wolverines and Razorbacks met for the first and only time in the 1999 CompUSA Florida Citrus Bowl. Michigan won 45-31. Read Full Story »

    Alabama-LSUNovember is the month for many in the SEC to step out of conference and take a break from the grueling week-by-week conference schedule. Several conference teams have decided to do just that this week, while others are trying to come off the high of beating a big-name opponent. We have yet another top-five matchup this week, as well as two top-20 teams facing off.

    Auburn Tigers announce 2013 Football Schedule

    Auburn TigersThe Auburn Tigers have announced their four non-conference games for next season, which officially completes their 2013 schedule.

    Auburn will open the 2013 season at home against Washington State on Aug. 31. The following week, Arkansas State will visit Jordan-Hare Stadium. The Red Wolves are led by former Auburn offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn. Read Full Story »

    Alabama-Mississippi StateThe time of the season has approached in which we get the updated BCS rankings each week, and the numbers tell us that the SEC is, yet again, at the top of the heap. The conference features the top two, five of the top 11 and seven of the top 25 teams in the BCS standings. Four of those teams face off against each other this week, as #1 Alabama plays #11 Mississippi State, while #2 Florida draws #10 Georgia.
