Texas A&M will open the 2012 season at home against the McNeese State Cowboys, American Press has reported. The game will be the first for the Aggies as a member of the SEC.
As reported earlier today by ESPN, Texas A&M’s first SEC game will be the following week at Kyle Field in College Station against the Florida Gators (Sept. 8).

Yesterday it was announced that the SEC would not announce their 2012 football schedule until sometime after Christmas. Today, Chris Low of ESPN released a few tidbits about the schedule.
With the addition of Missouri and Texas A&M to the conference, SEC Commissioner Mike Slive wanted to set them both up with a premier game at home early in the season. Missouri will host Georgia and Texas A&M will host Florida, both likely on Sept. 8.

The much anticipated 2012 SEC Football Schedule will not be released before Christmas, the SEC announced this morning on Twitter.
The SEC tweeted the following on their official Twitter account @SECSportsUpdate:
Working through final stages of 2012 SEC football schedule. We’ll release once it’s complete, but not before Christmas.
Last week, Georgia athletic director Greg McGarity and Arkansas athletic director Jeff Long both stated that the 2012 schedules would be released sometime before Christmas.

The Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders will play at the Mississippi State Bulldogs in 2012, MTSU announced today.
The game will be played at Davis Wade Stadium in Starkville on October 20, 2012. Mississippi State leads the overall series 4-0.
Middle Tennessee is also scheduled to play at Georgia Tech on Sept. 8 and at Memphis on a date to be announced.

The 2012 SEC football schedules should be released next week, several sources within the conference have indicated.
On Tuesday, Arkansas AD Jeff Long tweeted that the schedules should be released “before Christmas.”
Yesterday, UGA athletic director Greg McGarity said on Bulldog Roundtable on 680 the Fan that the 2012 SEC schedules should be released “Monday or Tuesday.”

Earlier this season, LSU defeated Alabama 9-6 in overtime in Tuscaloosa. Although the Crimson Tide lead the overall series 45-25-5, the Tigers have won seven of the last ten meetings.

The 2011 SEC Championship football game is set with the Georgia Bulldogs facing the LSU Tigers. The game will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. ET at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta (CBS).

Ohio State has added a game against the Florida A&M Rattlers at Ohio Stadium on Sept. 7, 2013. The game will be the first ever between the two schools.

With the addition of Missouri and Texas A&M to the SEC in 2012, there is a possibility that the conference will move to a nine-game conference schedule in the future. But could it be as soon as the 2012 season?
South Carolina President Harris Pastides thinks so. On Sunday, Pastides told the Daily Gamecock that the SEC will play nine conference football games each year. That means each SEC team would play six games from their division, one permanent crossover game and two rotating games from the opposite division.

CBS has announced that the Nov. 5 game between the no. 1 LSU Tigers and the no. 2 Alabama Crimson Tide will be televised in prime time at 8:00 p.m. ET.
The game was previously scheduled for a 3:30 p.m. ET start. Gary Danielson and Verne Lundquist will call the game from the booth with Tracy Wolfson down on the field.

Texas A&M has talked to Texas about future games, but the Longhorns have told them that their non-conference schedule is filled through the 2018 season.

The Ragin’ Cajuns will travel to face the Florida Gators at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium in Gainesville on September 8, 2012. The Gators will pay the Cajuns a $950,000 guarantee.

The SEC has announced that they have accepted the Texas A&M Aggies as their 13th member beginning in the 2012 season.
Texas A&M is only the third school to be accepted into the SEC since its inception in 1932. Arkansas and South Carolina were added back in 1991.

The Tennessee Volunteers will buy out of their 2013 football game at Oregon, Rob Moseley of The Register Guard announced on Twitter.
Tennessee and Oregon signed a contract for a home-and-home series back in 2005. In the first game in 2010, the Ducks crushed the Volunteers 48-13 in Knoxville.
