The Sun Belt Conference, which is expected to add FCS schools Appalachian State and Georgia Southern, will also add Idaho and New Mexico State, CBSSports.com has reported.
Idaho and New Mexico State, which will play the 2013 season as FBS Independents, will likely be announced as football-only members later this week and will join the conference in 2014. Appalachian State and Georgia Southern are expected to be announced on Wednesday.

The Appalachian State Mountaineers and the Georgia Southern Eagles will be joining the Sun Belt Conference in 2015, multiple sources have reported.
Both schools are members of the Southern Conference and are perennial powerhouses in the Football Championship Subdivision. Appalachian State has collected three national championships and won or shared the Southern Conference championship 12 times.

The Boise State Broncos and the Troy Trojans have scheduled a home-and-home football series for 2017 and 2018, both schools announced today.
Boise State will host the first game of the series and first ever meeting between the two schools at Bronco Stadium on Sept. 2, 2017. In the second and final game of the two-game set, the Broncos will travel to face the Trojans at Veterans Memorial Stadium on Sept. 1, 2018. Both games will be the season-opener for each school.

For the 2013 season, the Sun Belt consists of Arkansas State, Georgia State, South Alabama, Texas State, Troy, UL Lafayette, ULM, and Western Kentucky. FAU, FIU, Middle Tennessee, and North Texas each left the Sun Belt to join C-USA.

The 2013 Sun Belt Conference Football Schedules were released today. Conference play begins on Thursday, Sept. 12 when Troy visits Arkansas State.
For the 2013 season, the SBC will have eight members after the addition of Georgia State Panthers and the Texas State Bobcats. Florida Atlantic, Florida International, Middle Tennessee, and North Texas each left the Sun Belt for Conference USA.
