The game will be played at Davis Wade Stadium in Starkville on October 20, 2012. Mississippi State leads the overall series 4-0.

Middle Tennessee is also scheduled to play at Georgia Tech on Sept. 8 and at Memphis on a date to be announced.

Mississippi State’s 2012 non-conference schedule is now complete. The Bulldogs will also host Jackson State on Sept. 1 and South Alabama on Sept. 22 and will travel to Troy on Sept. 15. Some of those dates could change next week when the SEC announces the 2012 schedules.

The game will be the second meeting between the two schools. In their first meeting in 2009, Nebraska beat FAU 49-3 in Lincoln.

Florida Atlantic is also slated to play at Alabama and Wyoming in 2014. Other non-conference games for Nebraska include at Fresno State and home vs. Miami (FL).

Today FAU announced the hiring of Carl Pelini as their new head coach. Pelini was the defensive coordinator at Nebraska under head coach and younger brother Bo Pelini.

The Owls finished the 2011 season 1-11. Nebraska finished 9-3 and will face South Carolina in the 2012 Capital One Bowl.

Arkansas State Red Wolves 2011 Sun Belt Champions

The game will be played on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at 9:00 p.m. ET at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana (ESPN and ESPN 3D). The Cajuns will be the first ever school from Louisiana to play in the bowl game.

Louisiana-Lafayette is slated to face the 2nd through sixth seed from Conference USA. But the opposing team could come from another conference if C-USA can’t provide a bowl eligible team.

Since joining Division I back in 1974, the Ragin’ Cajuns have never played in a bowl game. Their only winning record during that span was 6-5 in 2005.

Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajuns are currently 8-3 overall and 6-2 in Sun Belt Conference play. They close out the 2011 regular season on Saturday with a non-conference game at Arizona.

Arkansas State will host Alcorn State at ASU Stadium in Jonesboro on September 22, 2012. The game will be the first ever meeting between the two schools.

The addition of Alcorn State completes Arkansas State’s 2012 non-conference football schedule. The Red Wolves open the season at Oregon on Sept. 1, host Memphis on Sept. 8 and travel to Nebraska on Sept. 15.

Arkansas State is currently 8-2 overall and 6-0 in the Sun Belt Conference.

Missouri is the second school to be added to the Southeastern Conference this year. Texas A&M accepted an invitation to join in September.

Although no announcement was made, it is likely that Missouri will be placed in the SEC East with Texas A&M in the SEC West. That would keep the divisions balanced and keep a current member from having to switch.

The Tigers leave behind the Big 12, a conference they have competed in since it began in 1996. Prior to that, Missouri was a member of the Big Eight Conference from 1928 to 1995. Missouri won a share of the Big 12 North championship three times and won or shared the Big Eight championship six times.

The Ragin’ Cajuns will travel to face the Florida Gators at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium in Gainesville on September 8, 2012. The Gators will pay the Cajuns a $950,000 guarantee.

The game will be the fourth meeting between the two schools. Florida has won all four games in convincing fashion: 45-0 (1945), 45-0 (1985), 61-14 (1993) and 55-21 (1996).

Florida opens the 2012 season at home against Bowling Green on Sept. 1 and also host Jacksonville State on a date to be announced. The Gators travel to Florida State on Nov. 24.

The Cajuns travel to Oklahoma State on Sept. 15 and to Kansas State (date TBA). They also host Tulane on Oct. 6.

Tulane will travel to face Louisiana-Lafayette at Cajun Field in Lafayette on October 6, 2012. On October 8, 2016, the Green Wave will host the Ragin’ Cajuns at the Louisiana Superdome in New Orleans.

The two schools have met a total of 24 times in the series with Tulane leading 20-4. The Green Wave and Ragin’ Cajuns last met on October 7, 2000 at Cajun Field. Tulane won that game 38-37.

Georgia will host ULM at Sanford Stadium in Athens on November 7, 2015 and will pay the Warhawks a $1.2 million guarantee for the game. The two schools have a “Memorandum of Understanding” to play the game with an official contract in the works.

The Bulldogs now have three non-conference games scheduled in 2015. Georgia opens the season at home against Southern on September 5 and travels to Georgia Tech on November 28. The trip to face Georgia is the first known game for the Warhawks in 2015.

ULM is 0-3 all-time against Georgia, losing 70-6 in 1994, 42-3 in 1997 and 44-7 in 2005.

Nebraska will host the Arkansas State Red Wolves at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln on September 15, 2012. In their first and only meeting in 2009, the Cornhuskers beat the Red Wolves 38-9.

ASU is the third non-conference game for Nebraska in 2012. The Cornhuskers open the season on Sept. 1 at home vs. Southern Miss and then travel to face the UCLA Bruins on Sept. 8. One slot remains open and will be filled at a later date.

Nebraska also announced that they will host South Dakota State on September 21, 2013. The game, the third between the two schools, completes the 2013 schedule for the Huskers.

Other non-conference games for Nebraska in 2013 include Wyoming (Aug. 31), at Southern Miss (Sept. 7) and home vs. UCLA (Sept. 14).

South Alabama will open the 2012 season at home on September 1 against the UTSA Roadrunners. The following week, the Jaguars will host Nicholls State.

Previously announced games at NC State (09/15), at Mississippi State (09/22) and at Hawaii (12/01) round out South Alabama’s 2012 schedule.

USA will play all Division I teams in 2012, including eight games against Sun Belt Conference schools. Those games will count in Sun Belt standings, but the Jaguars will not be eligible for the SBC title. South Alabama will become a full member of the conference in 2013.

Navy and South Alabama will meet four times beginning in 2013. The series has been on the books for months, but now there are exact dates. South Alabama will travel to Annapolis on November 16, 2013 and November 14, 2015. The Jaguars will host the Midshipmen in Mobile on November 22, 2014 and November 12, 2016.

Two other minor schedule adjustments were made by the Jaguars. Their 2013 game at Tennessee was moved up to September 28 from November 9. Also, their 2014 game at Mississippi State was pushed back one week to September 20.

ULM will travel to face the Auburn Tigers at Jordan-Hare Stadium in September of 2012. The Warhawks are 0-8 against the Tigers and lost 52-3 at Auburn last season.

In September 2013, the Warhawks will travel to face the Oklahoma Sooners in Norman. The game will be the first ever meeting between the two schools.

The addition of these two games completes both the 2012 and 2013 schedule for the ULM Warhawks. Exact dates are to be announced.

In 2012, ULM’s non-conference schedule features Arkansas (at Little Rock, AR), Baylor, at Tulane and at Auburn. Sun Belt games include Florida Atlantic, Louisiana-Lafayette, North Texas, Troy, at Arkansas State, at FIU, at Middle Tennessee and at South Alabama.

Non-conference opponents in 2013 include Grambling State, Tulane, at Baylor and at Oklahoma. Sun Belt games for ULM include Arkansas State, FIU, Middle Tennessee, South Alabama, at Louisiana-Lafayette, at North Texas, at Troy and at Western Kentucky.

Louisiana Tech will travel to face Louisiana-Lafayette at Cajun Field in Lafayette on October 4, 2014. On October 3, 2015, the Bulldogs will host the Ragin’ Cajuns at Joe Aillet Stadium in Ruston.

The two schools have met a total of 85 times in a series that began in 1910. Tech leads the series 46-33-6 and has won the last six meetings.

Louisiana Tech also announced that they will host in-state foe Northwestern State on September 20, 2014. Tech and State have played a total of 77 games, and the Bulldogs have dominated the series 53-19-5. Their last meeting was in 1994, a 38-28 win for Louisiana Tech in Ruston.

Southern Miss will travel to face Western Kentucky at Houchens Industries – L.T. Smith Stadium in Bowling Green on September 22, 2012. The Golden Eagles will host the Hilltoppers at M.M. Roberts Stadium in Hattiesburg on September 10, 2016.

The addition of Southern Miss forced Western Kentucky to move Hawaii off of their 2012 schedule to a date to be determined. Hawaii announced today that South Alabama has taken the place of the Hilltoppers.

The series will be the first games ever between these two schools. Southern Miss’ 2012 schedule also includes a trip to LSU (09/03). Western Kentucky also travels to LSU (09/17) and hosts Army (09/24).

Hawaii will host South Alabama at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu on December 1, 2012. This will be the first ever meeting between the two schools.

South Alabama replaces Western Kentucky, who was previously scheduled to play at Hawaii on the same date. The Hilltoppers will play the Warriors on a future date to be announced.

Hawaii’s 2012 football schedule also includes games at USC (09/01), at BYU (09/08) and home against Lamar (09/15). South Alabama plays at NC State (09/15) and at Mississippi State (09/22) in their final season as an FCS team before joining the Sun Belt Conference.

Tulane will host ULM at the Louisiana Superdome on September 29, 2012. The Green Wave will travel to face the Warhawks at Malone Stadium in Monroe on September 14, 2013.

Tulane and ULM have met twice in their history. The Green Wave beat the Warhawks 52-9 in 2002 and 24-10 in 2008.

With the addition of ULM, Tulane’s 2012 non-conference schedule is complete with road games at Ole Miss and Syracuse. Tulane will also host Rutgers.

The Green Wave 2013 non-conference schedule is also complete with home games against Georgia Tech and South Alabama and a trip to Rutgers.

ULM now has two non-conference games scheduled for 2012, with the other game vs. Baylor. For 2013, the Warhawks have non-conference games at Baylor and home against Grambling State.
