    Georgia State to visit Alabama in 2013, Oregon in 2015

    Georgia State PanthersGeorgia State has added two more games to their future football schedules, the school announced this afternoon. The Panthers will travel to Alabama in 2013 and Oregon in 2015.

    Alabama will welcome Georgia State to Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa on Oct. 5, 2013. The Crimson Tide will pay the Panthers a $700,000 guarantee.

    The game will be the second meeting between the two schools. GSU played at Alabama in their inaugural season back in 2010 and fell to the Tide 63-7. Read Full Story »

    ULM adds LSU to 2014 Football Schedule

    Tiger StadiumULM has added LSU to their 2014 football schedule, the Warhawks announced today.

    ULM will travel to face LSU at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge on Sept. 6, 2014. The game will be only the third ever meeting between the two schools, which are separated by about 187 miles.

    The Tigers lead the overall series 2-0 after a 49-7 win in 2003 and 51-0 in 2010. Both games were played in Baton Rouge. Read Full Story »

    Middle Tennessee, BYU Schedule 2013-14 Home-and-home Football Series

    BYU-MTSUThe Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders and the BYU Cougars have signed a home-and-home football series for 2013 and 2014, The Tennessean has reported.

    Middle Tennessee will travel to face BYU at LaVell Edwards Stadium in Provo in 2013. The game will be the first ever meeting between the two schools. The Blue Raiders will then host the Cougars at Johnny “Red” Floyd Stadium in Murfreesboro in 2014.  Read Full Story »

    Texas Tech to host Texas State in 2013, face UTEP Home-and-home in 2014-15

    Texas Tech Red RaidersTexas Tech will host Texas State in 2013 and will face UTEP in a home-and-home series in 2014 and 2015, Tech athletic director Kirby Hocutt told the Avalanche Journal.

    No specific dates for the three games were mentioned. A representative of Texas Tech told us that currently there are “no dates yet for release.”

    2013 will be the third consecutive season that Texas Tech has played Texas State. Read Full Story »

    Sun Belt set to play Nine-Game Football Schedule beginning in 2015

    Sun BeltThe Sun Belt Conference will begin playing a nine-game football schedule in 2015, according to the future schedules posted by Western Kentucky.

    Back in June, Sun Belt commissioner Karl Benson stated that the conference would likely move to a nine-game schedule. “There’s a chance we could get to nine games as early as 2014 but my guess would be 2015,” Benson said. Read Full Story »

    FIU to host Bethune-Cookman in 2013 and 2014

    FIU Golden PanthersThe Florida International Golden Panthers will host the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats in 2013 and 2014, FIU announced today.

    Both games will be played at FIU Stadium on Sept. 14, 2013 and Sept. 6, 2014. The two schools played twice when FIU was in Division I-AA. Bethune-Cookman won both games, 31-0 in 2002 and 24-14 in 2003.

    “It’s an opportunity to establish another rivalry with an in-state school,” said Head Coach Mario Cristobal. Read Full Story »

    UL Lafayette completes 2013 Non-Conference Football Schedule

    Louisiana's Ragin' CajunsThe UL Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns have completed their 2013 non-conference football schedule, The Advertiser has reported.

    Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajuns will open the 2013 season at Arkansas on Aug. 31. The game could be played in either Little Rock or Fayetteville, UL Lafayette athletic director Scott Farmer said.

    The Cajuns are 0-4 all-time against the Razorbacks, but most of the games have been competitive. UL Lafayette lost 9-7 in 1991, 24-13 in 1995, 38-17 in 1998, and 24-17 in 2002. Read Full Story »

    South Alabama moves season-opener against UTSA to Saturday

    South AlabamaDue to Tropical Storm Isaac, South Alabama has moved their season-opener against UTSA to Saturday, Sept. 1 at 1 p.m. CT. The game was initially slated for Thursday night.

    “After long consideration of numerous factors impacting the game, the logical decision is to move the game to Saturday,” Erdmann said. “We encourage our fans to come out, enjoy a great football game and support the Jaguars.” Read Full Story »

    Navy, South Alabama cancel 2015-16 Football Games

    South AlabamaNavy and South Alabama have mutually agreed to cancel their football games in 2015 and 2016, USA assistant athletic director Haven Fields confirmed today.

    The Midshipmen and the Jaguars agreed to a four-game, home-and-home football series back in 2008, with games slated each season from 2013 through 2016.

    Dates of the contests that have been canceled are Nov. 14, 2015 at Navy and Nov. 12, 2016 at South Alabama. Read Full Story »

    Arkansas State to play at Auburn in 2013

    Arkansas State at Auburn (2010)The Arkansas State Red Wolves will play at the Auburn Tigers in 2013, ASU announced today.

    Arkansas State will travel to Jordan Hare Stadium on Sept. 7, 2013. It will be the third meeting between these two schools in the last seven years. Auburn leads the series 2-0 after wins in 2006 (27-0) and 2010 (52-26).

    Auburn will pay ASU $1.1 million for the game, which is the largest payment ever received by the Red Wolves. Read Full Story »

    Conference USA adds five schools for 2013

    C-USA 2013 AdditionsConference USA announced today that they are adding five schools for the 2013 season. Joining C-USA are Charlotte, Florida International, Louisiana Tech, North Texas and UTSA.

    Florida International and North Texas are moving from the Sun Belt while Louisiana Tech and UTSA are coming from the WAC. Charlotte, which begins their football program in 2013, will move up from the Football Championship Subdivision. Read Full Story »

    Georgia State PanthersThe Georgia State Panthers will host Charlotte in 2015 and have had discussions for games against two FBS schools, the AJC has reported.

    Georgia State will host the Charlotte 49ers at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta on Sept. 3, 2015. The two schools are also discussing a game in 2016, but a contract has yet to be finalized. Read Full Story »
