Fresno couldn’t get a 2 for 1?? Would of been nice to get 1 home game in deal.

What the hell has happened to Fresno scheduling? They have a big enough stadium, with decent fan support. Why can’t they get any big opponents to play in Fresno anymore? This feels like it should have been a 2-for-1 deal. USC wouldn’t have to travel far to Fresno, plus they get two home games. Crazy.

Fresno basically just cut the same deal for themselves that UC Davis could have made with USC.

Discouraging. The have not couldn’t even get a 4 for 1? 3 for none is awful.

a 2 for 1 would have been nice…..maybe Fresno is getting at least $1M ea for all 3 games.

That 2005 game is one of my all-time favorites

I’m guessing Fresno isn’t making much off home games anymore, so they need buy games to make money. They have one scheduled each of the next 8 seasons and they’ve all been scheduled recently.

Fresno makes more money riding the bus to Los Angeles than they can make at home, averaging 30,000 per game with over 11,000 empty seats. The Fresno glory days are behind with no sign that they will return. The new slogan should be, “Any check, any where-I’m losing my ass and need the money.”

But that game would be a guaranteed sellout if they brought USC to town, even if USC fans made up the remainder of the tickets. Plus you could charge more.

A shame they couldn’t get a home game out of that. Sad state for the FSU football team.

I’d love to see an NCAA rule limiting teams to 7 home games, (and only 6 home games if a neutral game is played). P5 home game scheduling is out of control.

How does Fresno not get a return home game with ASU?

Fresno State continues to add high profile money games to aid their underfunded athletic department. In the past , when Fresno State was consistently competitive and sold out most of their home games, they were attractive enough to make a series like this a home & home agreement. Those days, at least for the next several years are gone. In the next several years, Fresno has one and done away games with Washington, Alabama, UCLA and now Oregon.

Anytime, Anyone, Anywhere – most of the time that meant playing away for Fresno in the 2000’s. Fresno never had a 1 for 1 home & home agreement with Oregon or any similar caliber school Dave, at the very best it would have been 2 for 1. Fresno has to take these games and hopefully the dogs will be competitive again to actually have a chance when they meet.

Did Fresno State already play a game at BYU? I’m only asking because I see that BYU is playing at Fresno State in 2017, but I don’t recall Fresno State playing in Provo in recent memory.

I’m surprised Fresno isn’t getting a home game against UCLA. For UCLA, their fans could travel to a road game against a quality opponent. Plus, Fresno has a history of hosting big-name teams.

Look at that 2017 OOC schedule. Yes, one FCS, but @ ‘Bama, @ Washington, then home for BYU. That is scheduling up. Nice schedule Fresno.

Fresno could be the first team ever to beat Incarnate Word in Alabama in back to back weeks. They probably won’t; but they could..

Would be interesting to see how many West LA types would travel to Fresno for a game. Those that did probably wouldn’t admit it to their friends!

I think it’d be nice for Fresno State fans to have an opportunity to see their team play in a venue like the Rose Bowl. And for the players to have an opportunity to play on such a storied field. It is a really nice stadium with an awesome history.

I went down to watch Fresno State play UCLA back in ’08 at the Rose Bowl. Fresno beat them and there was a nasty heat wave that day. People were passing out from the heat. So the Bulldogs have played there.

That is so true because playing in that dumpy cement box they call a stadium is no great thrill. The rose bowl is second to none.

Will there be a travel package available for the Alabama game?
