Go Niners! Nice to get a game against a Big 10 opponent.

Illinois goal is to get to 6 wins per year in order to make a crappy bowl game. They achieve that goal every 3 years or so. To compete for the Big Ten championship and go to an attractive bowl is a pipe dream. Sad, but true. The unattractive non league schedule over the next several years confirms this. This is not your Dick Butkus team.

Everything that Illinois needs to prove can be done in a 9 game B1G schedule. There is no point to giving more than 1 opponent a Home and Home series each year. You’re playing the same amount of Power 5 teams as most SEC teams. These games are nothing to complain about.

The Niners getting paid for a winnable game against a B10 opponent, sounds good to me.

Must recruit top players in order to compete; sorely lacking here.

Just another week on the schedule a Big Ten team won’t play a team with NFL talent on the field.

That’s cute. Six players from Central Michigan drafted in the last ten years.

Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Florida, and three or four other SEC schools have that in a year.

      See, that’s the difference.

You play in the Big Ten, sure you play nine conference games, but some of those schools aren’t sending players to the NFL. Everyone in the SEC is sending players to the NFL, even Kentucky and Vanderbilt.

And that is whey the competition is so much better in the SEC and why nine conference games don’t matter. If they mattered, the Big 12 wouldn’t be going crazy trying to figure out how in the world they keep getting “screwed over” every year. It’s because your conference sucks and you don’t play anybody.

Of course Alabama just scheduled “NFL talent factory” Mercer for 2 games and Big Ten wont schedule FCS anymore so theres that… SEC schedule there cream puffs too.

Good choice on moving these games due to the hurricane, would be hard to make up & now I don’t have to stay up til 12am watching Michigan play.

That is a very long time from now. By the time this game gets played, Duke and Illinois could be in the same 64-team SuperConference with paid players and coaches replaced by A.I. programs supplied by Chinese boosters.

Some players who will take the field for one of these games is finishing first grade this week.
