I think if the ACC is going to continue playing only 8 conference games a year schools should at least do what Clemson and North Carolina do and schedule two P5 OOC games a year. Gives you a better benchmark as to how strong a team is as compared to one P5 game OOC a year and three garbage games they are supposed to win.

Or, if you want play Boise/BYU/San Diego State back to back to back or something. Hard with those games though, as with any other OOC games as it is impossible to predict where any program will be 3 to 5 years from now.

Middle Tenn is a respectable G5, and LSU isn’t a cakewalk. CCSU is an embarrassment when much better CAA FCS like Maine or New Hampshire would gladly come to Syracuse. Central Michigan… well, I wouldn’t let them hang around until a hail mary! ;)

Correct me if I’m wrong, but the only FBS schools with only 11 games scheduled for 2017 are: UNLV, Air Force, Coastal Carolina, Miami FL, FIU, and NIU.

The “Battle of New York”. I kinda like it

It’s pretty absurd that the state of NY only has 3 FBS teams even if there is additional NFL competition. Hell, Alabama is going to be back up to 5 FBS teams next year and Ohio has 2 NFL teams and 8 FBS schools.

On a weekend when all have home games, Crimson Tide gets more attendance than Syracuse, Buffalo, and Army combined.

Auburn’s stadium capacity is 15K less than Alabama but they also have more attendance than the Orange, Black Knights and Bulls combined.

New York is good for high school & NFL football, not so much for college

To our Bama fans…we can say the same thing about basketball…one game at the Dome draws more than every hoops game in Alabama.

Army’s also a much better college

Good OOC game for Syracuse. The ACC needs these type of matchups to get respect.

I thought Syracuse won that game in 1997. I know I’m old, but my memory isn’t totally gone. Wisconsin won the game in 1972. 1971 was a tie.

I was at that 1997 game. An embarrassment. Wisconsin couldn’t do anything. I think Dayne was injured and got little if any playing time. But we went to the Rose Bowl the next two years and won both times.

Wow!!! 2 former has been Big East teams playing each other. In other words, who really cares about this matchup?

The ACC should add UConn and UCF.

It’s wishful thinking on my part. I wish that there would be no more conference expansion. Rivalries are ruined and that’s not good for college football.

The AAC should expand to 14 teams by trying to add Georgia Southern and NDSU and honestly the Big12 should add 2 more teams.

The big 12 will add BYU and Louisville, the 4 power conferences will have 16 teams each. All the rest will be fodder for whoever wants to see them play as they wont be part of the national playoffs.Kentucky and Virginia are in their last year of football before they fold.Several other teams will follow in the next few years, money talks, bullshit walks.

I can see BYU going to the Big-12 one day, Lousiville just became a part of the ACC so I don’t see them leaving. As for Kentucky & Virginia football programs folding, first I ever heard of it. I highly doubt it due to this is where most of the money comes from whether they are bad or not.
