The ACC’s profile in football has been raised by Clemson’s national title.
UConn and Cincinnati should definitely join the conference now.
That would imply that the ACC was not good enough for UConn and Cincy to join previously… which is most certainly not the case. ACC can wait out the eventual Big XII implosion and see if there’s anything better to grab from the clearance sale.

Here are ALL the teams playing in bowls at or close to home, not just the ones playing in their home stadiums.
Louisiana-Lafayette VS. Southern Mississippi (it’s a toss-up)
That USC team gets to play close to home again, may be that “special Trojan fan” can stop complaining about SEC teams playing in bowls close to home. I luv it when they compare the miles to the stadium from both campuses. Should be an easy win for the Trojans then, I guess. Like last year…….ohh wait.
TCU is 15-15-1 in post season games.
They have to play this game at least once in Dallas, everything goes to Dallas, great stadium.
No, not Dallas for the exact reason you provided. Just watching this great game and having to look at that craven grin of Jerry Jones every minute or so in the booth would ruin everything this game stands for.
There are approximately 95,000 uniformed military personnel assigned to a variety of commands and units in the San Diego area. Their dependents and families take the total military population in the county in the neighborhood of 175,000. The Navy and Marines make up the bulk of the military presence.
Play a game there.
Could also be played at the Cotton Bowl
New Orleans with it’s world renowned restaurants, world class hotels, world famous Bourbon Street, French Market, River Walk and famous Canal Street shopping, Aquarium, and Harrah’s Casino all within walking distance of the hotels in the area. The Mercedes-Benz Superdome is state of the art in all aspects and 70-72 degrees maintained no matter what the outside weather or temperature may be.
Party Posse should perform at next year’s Army-Navy Game ;)
The game is just fine where it is. Just a few hours from both campuses as well as a few hours from DC. They played it once in the Rose Bowl in the early ’80s–it was fun as something different but the logistics and the cost were too much.
And yes, keep it away from the bloated excess of that monstrosity in Arlington–please.
There is no NFL stadium in Dallas, though there is one that seats more than 70,000. Army-Navy at the Cotton Bowl would be awesome.
Dallas cowboys you must not know what you are talking about!
No Aaron, you must not know what you are talking about. The Cowboys play in Arlington, Texas.
They said Dallas, but more than likely that they are referring to Arlington.
should be only a mid-atlantic rotation……meadowlands/philly/baltimore/DC.
Good idea as well
Maybe 3 straight in philly , then one at Newyork , then 3 straight in philly again , the one in DC.
When Navy is considered home team play at M& T in Baltimore, Army Yankee Stadium or Met Life
Keep the tradition in Philadelphia , Army Navy branches started in phila keep them there !!!!!
Love to see them at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh! Steeler fans are fanatics and like the service academies.
😀Kyle Field. . It would be packed with. 102,000 fans😀

The BYU game will be the second against an FBS opponent for Portland State. The Vikings are also schedule to play at Oregon State on September 2nd.
This schedule came together great. A FCS game to open followed by LSU, Utah, and Wisconsin. Then a bye week before finishing off their season with 9 games. The home slate should also garner great interest for attendance with Utah, Wisconsin, and Boise State on the slate.
It was a good idea to put a warm up game before LSU–just to get the offense in sync. Go Cougars.
Question…..After checking BYU’s sched is there any reason why independent teams don’t schedule gms w each other during champ week? For ex. BYU vs UMASS during champ wk would give teams an xtra bye wk.
Weather combined with lack of alternative game opportunities.
But the BYU-UMass contract has a clause to move the 2017 to December 2 had either gotten a great opportunity for November 18.
If UConn was move to the Big East Olympic/Indy football, I would not be surprised to see in most years UMass-UConn Thanksgiving weekend while BYU plays USC/Stanford and BYU-UMass and BYU-UConn pre-Thanksgiving Championship weekend.
Glad BYU will get a warm up game before playing LSU.
Number of Years since Last Conference Title
You forgot Wisconsin, which last won the B1G in 2012.
I would not call 4 years a “drought”. I would not call 8 years a drought….
Going to have to agree with you, I’d say 15+ years on the list is where it should start.
15 years to last win a conference title in the SEc would include everyone save for ‘Bama, Auburn, LSU, Florida or Georgia. (Well, there is Mizzou, But they come from the hack Big 12 and as we all have been told ad nauseam Couch Carolina, Vandy, and Ole Miss would dominate all other leagues). Two bad they have been to the SEC title as many times as Florida and Georgia have since they left the Big 12. Tennessee???? Kentucky???
Mizzou with less than 6 years in the conference has been to the SEC title game in the last 15 years the same amount of times as South Carolina, Florida, Georgia and Tennessee.
Yeah, but everyone else in teh SEC would roll every other conference???? LOL
