WMU needs to get on the ball with their future scheduling, not much out there. When you look at CMU they’ve got at least 2 P5 schools until 2020 (gonna get paaaaaaid in 2017).

The MAC finally figured out not to have teams travel to UMass on a short week. Of course, this is UMass’s last year in the MAC, so it’s too little too late.

Shame on Tulane. Their out of touch AD continues to even attempt scheduling “names.” He is a cancer.

Western Michigan University fans welcome this addition to our schedule. We played #4 Michigan State and #1 Ohio State this year.
Too bad that our starting QB Zach Terrell would have graduated by then.

Great job USC, meanwhile Trojan fans complain when an SEC school schedule these teams. Hypo critics

Yeah, dude, these game sucks. I’m embarrassed for them. But at least these games also come during the same seasons we play Notre Dame and Alabama, ND and Texas twice, and ND and BYU, in addition to 9 conference games. Meanwhile SEC schools play 8 conference games and maybe 1 good power 5 neutral site game… Nice try.

        Maverick,
I was not trying anything, just stating a fact. You luv to complain when an SEC team schedules these games meanwhile USC does it & you have to use an excuse about (least we are playing Bama, ND & Texas). It does not matter who else USC is playing, just making the point before you complain about what the SEC does, look in the mirror 1st. That’s why I say hypo critic. You can not have it both ways, bashing the SEC while your team does the exact same thing, that’s why I continue to say that ALL TEAMS DO IT. Meanwhile you bash Bama for playing neutral site games & now USC is playing Bama, in a neutral site game, imagine that.

Do you not to see how illogical you sound? USC is playing 11 of 12 power 5 games. And the one non Power 5 game they’re playing are against Group of 5 teams. There is no FCS team.

        In 2016, let’s compare Alabama’s schedule vs. USC’s schedule.
Alabama plays 8 conference games (4 home, 4 away), 1 neutral site P5 game, 2 home G5 games, 1 home FCS.
        USC plays 9 conference games (4 home, 5 away), 1 neutral site P5 game, 1 home P5 game, 1 home G5 game, 0 FCS.

Comparing Alabama’s schedule to USC’s is a joke. USC has 1 more away game, 2 more P5 games, 0 FCS… USC easily has the hardest schedule in the country. For a team like 2015-16 national champions Alabama not to play a schedule like that is a joke.

How can you not see that?

        January 30, 2016 at 5:15 am

I was not comparing the scheduling, all conferences are not created equal, we have a difference of opinion, that’s all. It does not bother me that Bama plays in a 8 game conference or that Bama plays 1 FCS & 2 smaller schools.2016 Bama starts with USC & as much as you would like to call them (cupcakes) W.Kentucky just won Con.USA championship & went 12-2, Chattanooga lost in the playoffs in FCS, Kent St is the only team I can not speak for but they are as equal as Utah St is. Just like USC it is extremely hard to get through the season just losing one game or playing for an SEC championship or even a national champion, I understand you think the SEC is a joke but that is your opinion nor will I try to change it but just because you play a in a 9 game conference does not make it harder on you. Good luck to your Trojans next year.

The fact I’m telling you is because the Pac 12 plays 9 games, they will have 6 more losses guaranteed.
Because of that, it makes the conference look weaker than it really is.
If the SEC played 9 games, they would have 7 more losses guaranteed. So instead of playing that, they play a weak Group of 5 team at home. It’s false advertising.
Do you see where I’m coming from?

All Power5 programs have completed their 2015 schedules (although BC is awaiting to hear if NM St cancels their game).

Numerous Group of Five programs are scrapping to fill their 2015 schedules.

Ball St and Western Mich both need OOC games. One of these programs could end up playing South Alabama (after their game with UAB was cancelled). All have 9/19 open.

W Mich could schedule an FCS program, but not many FCS programs with dates open, and it will cost a bunch to attract a home game. If UCF does not opt to play an FCS program, could hook up with W Mich (both with 9/19 open).

With 2 or 3 games yet to schedule San Diego State needs to get on the ball. Maybe the Aztecs are hoping NM St will cancel the 9/19 UTEP game, and then SD St could schedule the Miners?

Geo St and FIU could hook up (both have 9/12 and 9/26 open).

Then SMU, Louis Tech, ULL and Texas St each still need one game.

Some FCS programs not yet matched up with a FBS opponent: Montana St, Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Alabama St, Prairie View A&M, Texas Southern, South Carolina St

(unknown if they are actually looking for FBS opponents as their schedules have not been publicly announced).

Air Force needs a game. Possibility AF could hook up with Montana St?

And San Diego St, Air Force, Fresno St and San Jose St can opt to schedule an additional game via their ‘Hawaii exemptions’.

Sidenote: The Tarheels have scheduled games against two FCS opponents (NC A&T and Delaware). Why?

WMU plays Georgia Southern, Michigan St and Ohio State in 2015. I assure u that their 4th non-conf game will be against an FCS school. Maybe a junior college

The MAC. Where 11:45am = 3pm and 13 football teams is the way to go.

WEIRD — NO BOWLING GREEN VS MIAMI. TIRED OF THESE EAST COAST TEAMS COMING IN WITH NO PROGRAM, MESSING UP THE SCHEDULE, THEN GOING TO A BETTER CONFERENCE (MARSHALL, UCONN, TEMPLE, UMASS).

        March 3, 2014 at 12:20 pm

UConn was never in the MAC, Central Florida was for football only like Temple and UMass. Also at least Marshall was an all sport member. If the league wants to go beyond 12 it needs to be with all sport members not just football only

I’D LIKE TO SEE SOME TEAMS VENTURE OUT. IT SEEMS AS IF TOLEDO, BOWLING GREEN, MIAMI, NORTHERN ILLINOIS, CENTRAL MICHIGAN, AND OHIO COULD LEAVE AND GRAB SOME OTHERS FROM CONF USA AND AMERICAN CONFERENCE. LEAVE TESTICLE TECH, AINT NOTHING GOOD IN EAST OR WEST MICHIGAN, AKRON & KENT (HOW DO YOU TELL THE 2 APART?), BUFFALO BILLS/BULLS, AND UMASS TO FEND FOR THEMSELVES.

How does NIU, who has been the best team in the MAC for the last 3-4 years, keep getting screwed out of having a big conference team come to DeKalb? Look at this schedule above and you see lesser MAC schools getting home games against the ACC, Big 10, etc. That doesn’t make any sense and is crap.

I’m excited for the Penn State-Akron game. I’ll be there with the Lion Country Lodging ticket package. It’s going to be a great trip!
