N.C. State and Tennessee To Play In 2012 Chick-fil-A College Kickoff

The N.C. State Wolfpack and the Tennessee Volunteers will open the 2012 football season in the Georgia Dome in Atlanta in the Chick-fil-A College Kickoff. The game will be played on September 1, 2012 and will be broadcast by ESPN (Sources: AL.com, AJC.com).

In the first Chick-fil-A game in 2008, Alabama beat Clemson 34-10. This year, the game features Alabama against Virginia Tech on September 5.

N.C. State, a member of the ACC, and Tennessee, a member of the SEC, have met only two times on the gridiron. In 1911, the Wolfpack beat the Volunteers 16-0. Tennessee returned the favor in 1939, beating N.C. State 13-0.
