2011 Preseason USA Today Top 25 Coaches Poll Released; Oklahoma No. 1

USA Today Coaches PollThe 2011 preseason USA Today Coaches College Football Poll has been released and the Oklahoma Sooners top the rankings. Oklahoma received 42 first place votes and 1,454 total points.

The SEC has eight teams in the Top 25 poll to lead all conferences. The Big 12 and Big Ten are tied for second with five teams each. Listed below is the full conference breakdown:

  • SEC – 8
  • Big 12 – 5
  • Big Ten – 5
  • ACC – 2
  • Mtn. West – 2
  • Pac-12 – 2
  • Indep. – 1

BYU’s not ranked, but after a 7-6 season that’s a good call. I like that Texas is ranked. Week one they’ll beat Rice for sure, and then be ranked still when BYU plays them.

UCF almost made it on the list, glad to see them get recognized.
