BCSThe Kansas State Wildcats have taken over the top spot in the BCS Standings for Week 12. The Wildcats (10-0, 7-0 Big 12) beat TCU 23-10 yesterday.

K-State ascended to the top spot after Alabama, the BCS no. 1 for three consecutive weeks, fell at home 29-24 to the Texas A&M Aggies. Alabama is now in fourth place and are the highest ranked one-loss team.

The Oregon Ducks (10-0, 7-0 Pac-12) have moved into second place after crushing California 59-17 last night. Notre Dame, also 10-0, has moved up one spot to third place after their 21-6 win at Boston College.

Georgia comes in at 5th for the second consecutive week. The Bulldogs were unable to jump over Alabama, but the two will likely be able to settle it on the field in the SEC Championship Game on Dec. 1.

In a BCS first, SEC teams occupy six straight positions in the Top Ten. Alabama, Georgia, Florida, LSU, Texas A&M, and South Carolina make up the fourth through ninth spots.

Michigan, Oklahoma State, and Washington all entered the BCS Standings this week, while Mississippi State, Northwestern, and Toledo each dropped out.

Based on the NCAA method, South Carolina has the toughest future schedule of teams in the Top 10. Their schedule is rated 4th.
